What chores have you done today?

I’ve barely done anything!

I put the dishwasher on and washed two coats. I can’t think of anything else. I didn’t even cook as I made tuna pasta bake yesterday so we had that.

I did go out for a walk for a hour with dc and watched some tv but that was it and the day is gone!

Were you more productive than me today?

We've been out a lot of the day but I've put a wash on and hung it up to dry and put a clean load of laundry away!

HalloweenHaribo · 27/10/2024 19:23

I work Saturdays so I always do very little on a Sunday.

I've done a few loads of washing and need to mop the kitchen floor in a while.

loropianalover · 27/10/2024 19:24

I swept and mopped downstairs but that’s it!

Bluevelvetsofa · 27/10/2024 19:24

Quantities of sorting out stuff, ready to ditch.

Cleaned the bathrooms and cloakroom and been for a walk. Short trip to the supermarket.

Thats about it.

DelilahBucket · 27/10/2024 19:46

I've been very unproductive today but I'm not very well. I managed to sort of clean the bathroom and I cooked tea. Beyond that DH has taken care of other jobs that needed doing.

Ratfinkstinkypink · 27/10/2024 19:48

None. I watched DD do a 10k, then we went for a late breakfast before going for a long walk. I did put the bins out when we got back but done nothing else.

Grepes · 27/10/2024 19:48

None, it’s the weekend! But I don’t really do much in the week either. We both hate housework so we outsource it. I’d much prefer to spend my free time doing something fun.

Oatsamazing · 27/10/2024 20:00

I did 2 loads of washing and prepped macaroni cheese and sweet potato curry to eat next week. Made my lunch for the next 2 days at work and cooked a roast. Also took my car to the car wash. Had to go to the supermarket too as I forgot a couple of things yesterday. I think I'm addicted to the dopamine hit I get from ticking things off my to do list Grin

mathanxiety · 27/10/2024 20:05

Emptied the dishwasher.
Cleaned the kitchen surfaces.
Dusted and polished the sitting room and dining room.
Dug out the litter box.
Brought out the bin.
Put on a load of laundry and will sort and fold it all when it comes out of the dryer.

So much for the day of rest.

BlastedPimples · 27/10/2024 20:08

Hoovered.

Did summer to winter clothes storage swap for me and two of my dcs. That took ages. Dunno why.

Walked the dogs.

Made lunch.

Dishwasher emptied and loaded x 2.

Could not be arsed to do any laundry today.

I had a 90 minute nap too. Lazy Sunday!

Ginkypig · 27/10/2024 20:10

this household has in total

made and consumed rolls for lunch

Did the dishwasher
got the groceries in
emptied but not put away clean clothes from the airer.

cleaned the fish tank

rotisseried a chicken in the air fryer for dinner and sandwiches next week
boiled some potatoes, peas and roasted asparagus to go with dinner.
opened a bottle of wine of which one glass has been consumed.

played a video game and now watching a film with the next glass of wine.

and that is all, not even got dressed!

Candaceowens · 27/10/2024 20:14

Not a lot, my main cleaning day is a Monday.

2 loads of washing (had a bit of sun so was able to dry one in the line)
The ironing
Cooked roast and cleaned kitchen after
Hoovered floors
Quick bathroom clean after everyone had showered
Took rubbish out

That's about it, I had a good tidy this evening though ready to clean everything in the morning.

LaPalmaLlama · 27/10/2024 20:21

Unpacked loads of boxes as we just moved. Went to the tip.

CallYourselfAChef · 27/10/2024 20:22

Had the washer on, hung it out, and brought it in.
Wiped round the kitchen.

Gowlett · 27/10/2024 20:35

Did one load of laundry, hung it out.
Swapped out my child’s summer & winter clothes.
Made half the dinner (DH made other half).

That’s it. Was generally pottering, with tea.

BookishType · 27/10/2024 20:40

I put one item in the wash (delicate so needed its own wash). That’s it.

I slept in and also went back to bed for an hour in the afternoon. I’m really good at laziness.

Dontmakemethegrinch · 27/10/2024 20:40

Walked for an hour and a half, did the weekly shop, emptied, reloaded and put on the dishwasher, stripped, washed and hung up the bedding outside (now need to remake it), emptied one laundry basket which is currently in the tumble dryer, went for a bike ride, had a look through the box of presents upstairs and got everything out to wrap for DH's birthday, wrote my to do list for the week, and did the recycling. I felt like I'd had a super lazy day doing a tonne of Mumsnet scrolling but when it's all listed like that it looks alright. Even managed an episode of Ludwig and some online shopping!

I decided to teach 9 year old DS2 how to clean shoes. Cunningly, we sat in the garden so we didn't get shoe polish all over the kitchen floor, but I got distracted for a minute , and then somehow he had black shoe polish all over his hands, his feet, and a good pair of trousers.

Then I went to hang a wash out, but discovered it was completely covered in lint from tissue lurking in some pocket, so I had to wash it again.

After that I frankly gave up, and we fucked off to the pub for lunch.

GiddyRobin · 27/10/2024 20:41

Sod all! I've got a flu, so I've spent most of it on the couch feeling sorry for myself. DH has cleaned the kitchen and cooked dinner; I feebly attempted to gather up the kids toys and got a stern talking to! 😂 So I'm making the most of it!

Mmm what did you have for lunch?

I wish I had been so wise.

weegiemum · 27/10/2024 20:43

Dishwasher x2 (dh raided teenagers rooms!)

Food shop

On 4th load of laundry, still 2-3 to go but again for teens* so they can do themselves!

*they're not teenagers any more, they're 20 and 22. I really should step back but we're running short on forks!!

Freemanhardyandwillis · 27/10/2024 20:44

Had a bath. That was a chore as I had to boil all the water on the stove snd it took ages for a very shallow bath!

crackofdoom · 27/10/2024 20:44

I wish I had been so wise.

Fish and chips for the DSes, and a veggie roast for me. And a very nice pint 😊

(We did also have a lovely walk, and a game of Scrabble, so I guess that's a couple of parenting points for me if you ignore the various episodes of bickering, raised voices, threats of consequences etc 🙄)

BeMintBee · 27/10/2024 20:46

Went on a dog walk
couple of loads of washing
small basket of ironing
made a couple of lemon drizzle cakes
popped to the shops
drop one cake to a friend
Made a roast dinner
ate too much lemon drizzle cake for dessert now sitting on sofa with jeans unzipped watching Netflix

NotYourSaviour · 27/10/2024 20:49

Hmm. Walked the dogs first thing and retrieved the lead I'd accidentally left 2 miles up the track on the bench. Two loads of washing. General tidying and putting stuff away.

Managed a couple of hours doing my crafting hobby whilst listening to an audio book and DH put an outside light up for our neighbour. Put a deep treatment on my wayward hair. Washed a clinker and a gazillion seeds off one dog.

Monday tomorrow sadly.
