Do you have a super king size bed?

How much do you love it?

Ours is being delivered this week, I'm so excited!

What size duvet do you have? And what about long pillows or regular?

Love to hear all about yours!

Have an emperor, slept in a hotel with one years ago after sharing a small double at home. Best night’s sleep we had ever had.
I’d say size up on your duvet, we do have larger pillows (king) so still a gap.

Getvthe best sheets you can afford! Enjoy!

Scutterbug · 20/10/2024 20:50

We have a super king. Fits both of us and the Labrador 😂
We have a super king duvet. DH has to change the duvet because my arms are not long enough!
I tend to buy my bedding from La Redoute.

Arran2024 · 20/10/2024 20:51

Yes. John lewis cater the bedding fine. I have no problems with sheets

Potatomashed · 20/10/2024 20:35

Two matching single duvets. Best thing ever

We have the same, with a big bedspread over the top.

It's a Tempur bed and mattress and LOVE it!

Chocbuttonsandredwine · 20/10/2024 20:56

It’s great that I’m not disturbed by dp moving/fitgeting/rolling over.

Although when it’s just me and the cat he manages to take up 70% of the bed 😂

Ithinkyou · 20/10/2024 20:57

Super king bed, super king duvet, extra long pillows!

Just the best thing ever.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 20/10/2024 20:58

We have a superking duvet but I do also have a single electric blanket just on my side because dh doesn't like them!

TheChosenTwo · 20/10/2024 20:58

We’ve been spoiled on holiday with what we think is an emperor bed? It’s fucking wonderful and I’ve spent some time wondering how to rejig our bedroom to get one in!

housemaus · 20/10/2024 20:59

LOVE it. We have a superking duvet but also in winter a double duvet so we have one each because I steal the covers in my sleep. Could not go back to a double now - when we first got this bed we were so pleased with it for months haha.

Doggymummar · 20/10/2024 21:01

We got ours recently. Love it. We have two super king memory foam pillows. We have a double duvet each and a super king throw over the lit so it looks neat N tidy as we are in a bungalow and people can see in as bedroom is at the front.

Clingfilm · 20/10/2024 21:03

We did, but just got rid as it was too big for the room. Had a kingside duvet, bit short tbh.

Pros, loads of room. Didn't feel my OH breathing on me. Didn't feel OH move about as much, proper space to sleep.

Cons, huge, more expensive bedding that takes ages to wash and dry. Not great during perimenopause night sweats. Also the gap between in the bed lets cold air in 😄

Pro and con! Didn't come in to contact with OH at all as we had our own spacious areas.
We've gone to king-size and it's much better for us, and the room.

If we had a huge room in the future I'd be tempted again but no regrets with kingsize so far.

shakeitoffsis · 20/10/2024 21:04

Super king bed superking duvet and 4 normal pillows with 2 show cushions. Best thing in the world.

Super king-size bed, emperor size duvet. It's massive and I love it!

Ooh. We have super king duvets but I’m going to have to try emperor now!

OP, I love our super king bed. We have two different mattresses (mine is softer than DH’s) which zip together. With a mattress topper, you can’t feel the join at all.

everycowandagain · 20/10/2024 21:10

@BetterWithPockets the emperor duvet works brilliantly because DH is super tall and he likes to wrap himself up like a sausage roll!

It also means that if a child appears they slot in the middle and everyone still sleeps well. Our kids know to bring their pillow with them because you can fit 3 across.

Thunderpants88 · 20/10/2024 21:10

It’s amazing. We got a simba superking and the duvet, mattress protector, pillows and sheets. Never looked back. DH is 6” 4 and I have been pregnant x4 times in 6 years so I am adoring it

Thankfully our children are far too old to be climbing in to bed with us now but we will have room for the doggy Grin

Yup - love it. Frist night my OH rang me from the professional phone (for night call-outs) on his side of the bed to the home phone on my side of the bed - I picked it up and he announced that he was on his way over - ETA 3 seconds!

He has since died, but I love my big bed - lots of things strewn about, books, phone, tissues, glasses - it is like my own world.

skilpadde · 20/10/2024 21:17

Super-king bed with two single duvets is the best thing ever.

julesagain · 20/10/2024 21:17

There is no space or need for a super king, but I do have a European King size, which is 160 cm wide all to myself as I'm single. Bloody lovely.

JasonTindallsTan · 20/10/2024 21:23

Yep, we have a super king, in honesty it’s a tad too big for the bed space (the room is big but cut in two by an arch way which causes a narrowing) so it means we have to kind of hop over the corners to get around it on the outside as they touch the edges of the archway. However. That minor irritation is 100% worth it when you consider the comfort and fabulous nights sleep we get from it. I have no idea what DH is doing over on his side. He no longer wakes me when he gets up at stupid o clock for the gym or during a bout of insomnia. We have a super king duvet and it’s huge.

Touloosia · 20/10/2024 21:25

We do and we don't like it! It's massive and bedding is so expensive. And a super king duvet is too heavy and cumbersome (even a lighter one) so we use a smaller duvet. It's a pain all around and we want to get rid!

But that's just us, everyone else seems to love theirs, so.

bifurCAT · 20/10/2024 21:29

I have a feeling that no matter how big the bed, your spouse and cats will always find a way to fill it.

Absolutely love our super king. We have a double duvet each so we can overlap if we are meeting in the middle for a cuddle and still not get cold!
