Do you have a super king size bed?

How much do you love it?

Ours is being delivered this week, I'm so excited!

What size duvet do you have? And what about long pillows or regular?

Love to hear all about yours!

No, because it was too big for this flat. I've got a king size, which is still a bit big (I get bruises from squeezing round it to change the sheets!) but doubles feel too small.

I live alone 😂 I like to spread out and roll around!

Chocolatelover13 · 20/10/2024 21:34

Yes and we love it. SK bedding and it’s totally fine, bought in JL.
Bought an electric blanket and we have a control each so can heat our own side to what we want and the other person can’t complain!

Garlicbest · 20/10/2024 21:34

@Touloosia, a huge bed and two duvets is the only way to go!

twilightcafe · 20/10/2024 21:34

Absolutely love mine. But I'd dearly love an emperor sized-bed!

Soooooooverthisnow · 20/10/2024 21:36

We have a super king bed and a king size duvet each! Mainly because that's what we already owned but it's fab and I wouldn't change it now! I've found the fitted sheets are great from a proper bedding shop (like the shops in the outlet shopping places) but are rubbish from dunelm, supermarkets or amazon.

tuberole · 20/10/2024 21:36

My husband works away a lot and when he's away I just seem to sleep in my half of the super king oddly, whereas the king size I would star fish in!

Angrymum22 · 20/10/2024 21:44

Super king with a Tempur memory foam mattress. Duvet is too warm so we use sheets and a cotton cellular blanket ( super king size and the in the winter one or two super sized fleeces. I tend to like more covers than DH so he has one layer of fleece and I fold one double. They are very thin. We tried a duvet when we first had memory foam but they are just too warm.
We had a new mattress last year when the old Tempur lost its memory, it was 23 yrs old.
M&S do a good range of sheets and bedding to fit. We currently have the bamboo mix sateen which are really easy to maintain and feel lovely. They are much more hard wearing than cotton. And can be put straight onto the bed after tumble drying.
It defo saved our marriage DH is well over 6 ft and probs to sleeping diagonally. We also co slept with DS until he was 4 and never noticed if he snook in at night after that.

We do and we don't like it! It's massive and bedding is so expensive. And a super king duvet is too heavy and cumbersome (even a lighter one) so we use a smaller duvet. It's a pain all around and we want to get rid!

But that's just us, everyone else seems to love theirs, so.

Why don't you use 2 single duvets?

WhitneyBaby · 20/10/2024 21:51

Love mine, totally life changing, I have a super king size duvet but need a size bigger.

Geekylover · 20/10/2024 21:56

We have had superking for years. We have a very big bedroom so anything smaller would look strange. We have a king duvet , don’t know why but we bought all the covers so reluctant to change. A superking duvet is better

HansBanans · 20/10/2024 21:58

Wouldn't be without it. Had to sleep in a double when we went to stay with relatives and it was awful 😂

Got a super king size duvet and it can be annoying to get bedding, but plenty of affordable options on Amazon

We have normal sized pillows, but gel ones so only need one each as they hold their shape

DameKatyDenisesClagnuts · 20/10/2024 21:59

Literally the best thing ever. Superking duvet on ours which is fine except for wrestling the covers on

tunainatin · 20/10/2024 22:01

I love ours, and now actually enjoy sharing a bed with my husband. I hated changing the duvet so now have an all in one washable duvet which makes it much easier.

WhitneyBaby · 20/10/2024 22:03

I have a superking Hungarian goose duvet from John Lewis and it’s actually really easy to get in the duvet cover, way easier than my old King size duvet.

Plamas · 20/10/2024 22:07

Kokomjolk · 20/10/2024 20:43

If they are biggish singles they overlap so it's no trouble to be together if you want and then apart when you prefer.

Much easier to change the bedding plus no getting wooshed with air in the night when bedfellow turns over! And you cam stick both feet out if they get hot, which is a plus for me.

Super king with two singles is the way to go. So comfortable.

GiddyRobin · 20/10/2024 22:10

We do! It's incredible, I absolutely love it and hate staying away sometimes because no bed matches up. 😂 I've said to DH, the only time we'll change is when I get my four poster....one day! One day!

WhitneyBaby · 20/10/2024 22:11

To the people who use two single divers, don’t you find them about 6 inches too short? I tried it one summer and found this.

hby9628 · 20/10/2024 22:12

Yes absolutely no going back. Could do with a new mattress though but super king all the way

latebusdrama · 20/10/2024 22:13

Definitely separate duvets, then we both choose the weight that suits us. And changing the cover on a winter weight super king duvet will kill you!!!

afaloren · 20/10/2024 22:13

Super king bed with super king duvet. Could do with a bigger duvet tbh but LOVE the bed. Couldn’t be without it now.

OnTheBoardwalk · 20/10/2024 22:14

@Potatomashed ah I wanted a super king and was put off by a friend telling me changing duvets was a nightmare and too difficult

I should have listened to you and got separate duvets

TeaMeBasil · 20/10/2024 22:16

Absolutely love it - we also went from a double to a superking and it was awesome.

We have a superking duvet and the superking pillows but with a square one in between - partly to stop DH encroaching on my pillows in his sleep and partly so we both have a cool fresh pillow in the night to roll on 😂

All the snuggling still takes place but you can sleep easily with your own space.

Wouldn't go back.

TeaMeBasil · 20/10/2024 22:18

Also, changing the covers isn't too bad if you use clips to keep the edges in place & then give it a good shake. We go lightweight and pile blankets on top when it's cold - so cosy.

Mulhollandmagoo · 20/10/2024 22:18

You're in for such a treat! We absolutely love ours, we'd never do back now.

Everything0Everywhere · 20/10/2024 22:18

Yes, love it!
However, we have a SK duvet (which I love) but it completely fills the washing machine. It takes 3 full wash-loads to wash all the bedding. I don't enjoy this element! Perhaps two singles might have been more practical.
