TMZ are reporting that Liam Payne has died, after falling from a hotel window

Top news story now. I'm so shocked.

Yeah, my daughter just came and told me. Not shocked exactly, but it's sad for someone so young to have lost their life. I've not followed One Direction, but I was aware of them. Seems he had addiction issues.

Yeah he did seem to be struggling with addiction issues. Poor lad.

It's not the main page and it's in very poor taste to have a vote on someones death. Why didn't you post on one of the other threads?

Seriously? Give your head a wobble. Does it affect your life/your night if this has been posted in the wrong topic? It’s been pointed out to OP several times already, and doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things as long as posts are respectful.

Oh grow up

It doesn't seem unreasonable to feel that age difference is a bit distasteful.

It's less distasteful than prurious, gossipy speculation about a complete strangers 'addiction issues' when the poor fucker is barely cold.

Yes but she met him when he was 14. She didn't date him when he was 14

We still don’t like it when men do it. I thought she was very odd when they started dating. Still thinks it’s very odd.
I’m sure now that he has died, all sorts will come out about way they were exploited as youngsters. Going on to have a child with someone who mentored him through those beginning years… let’s not pretend that’s ok.

Its not speculation. Liam payne spoke himself about his addiction issues.

And no one is saying that addiction issues are bad. Just that they are sad and very serious and can cause a lot of damage to a person

The singer also admitted he had "moments of suicidal ideation."

More distasteful or unreasonable than needlessly slagging a woman who has just lost the father of her child in tragic circumstances, will have to break the news that child and help him through it whilst managing her own grief?

Cool, got it.

Mrsdoyler · 17/10/2024 00:29

Yeah Cheryl's had a rough few years.

Edited

I feel for the child. Not the adult woman who got with a man she mentored as a child.

Mrsdoyler · 17/10/2024 00:31

Poor liam , (while there may be many other factors to this aswell) but just looking at one of them

Drink and drugs are so damaging and so addictive .

She didn't do anything legally wrong. She met him on a tv show.

She met him again ages later when he was an adult. And then they went out.

So by your standards: is brigit macron also wrong?

OK, glad you're being so open about the type of person you are.

I think they're both distasteful actually, but I do take your point.

pinkpjamas1 · 17/10/2024 00:52

Aww Sad . I remember him being on Pride of Britain playing video games wirh a young lad who'd saved his Mum's life. He was pro choice and loud about it, did a lot of philanthropist activity really. Just how sad. So young.
(People need to stop squabbling over the mechanics of threads and where they're posted, it just is so unimportant).

AngeloMysterioso · 17/10/2024 00:58

YABU to start another thread on this when there are already 4 threads in Chat

Willyoujustbequiet · 17/10/2024 02:08

Jesus pack it in squabbling about threads in the wrong places. A young man has died tragically leaving a young child fatherless.

What the hell is wrong with some posters. I'm embarrassed for you.

Yeah Cheryl's had a rough few years.

Why, what else has happened to her?

121Diet · 17/10/2024 02:16

I have never heard of him. Is he from X Factor

Philip Schofield didn’t date that lad at 14 either. Let’s not pretend it’s ok because she’s a woman. It’s still a power imbalance.

Berlinlover · 17/10/2024 02:14

well there was that incident in the nightclub where she was arrested for racially motivated assault…

HereForSomething · 17/10/2024 02:41

Philip Schofield didn’t date that lad at 14 either. Let’s not pretend it’s ok because she’s a woman. It’s still

Schofield got a young lad work experience and a job, visited him at a youth group he was in, kept in touch through his teen years etc and then started a relationship. Schofield was in a position of power over the lad as Schofield was famous and wealthy and the lad was not.

Cheryl literally met him on X factor and then nothing til she began a relationship with him he was in his 20s. When Cheryl met Liam again, he was probably more famous than her, having had huge success in a band and was wealthy. No power imbalance.

It's very different.

Oblomov24 · 17/10/2024 04:52

He was a very troubled man, addicted, abusive to ex. He was in the news last week aswell for something unpleasant.

Saveone · 17/10/2024 06:07

Oh no! This is so sad.

lololulu · 17/10/2024 07:30

@MonsteraMama

I think you need to get off MN!!
