I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot. The kittens are snuggled back up, after their breakfast, on the arm of my comfy chair 😊 No-one else is up yet, but I know alarms are set for 9am.

I'm nipping dd2 into town to collect her new glasses, at midday. And to pick up a few other bits - herbs from Sainsbury's (I like their jars), a nip in Home Bargains, and a few things from Bodycare.

Dd1 has college work to finish so she'll get on with that, and dd2 wants to do some revision when we get home ready for a practise exam question one of her teachers has planned for Tuesday

I want to upload a few more things to Vinted when we get in, and make carrott and fennel soup. I wanted to make the soup last week but didn't get round to it 🙄

We're having gammon for tea, with veg, roasties (maybe home made chips instead) and gravy 😋

After that it'll be my Self Care Sunday scrubby shower, followed by either crochet or one of my books. I really want to crack on with both but am knackered of an evening & don't get far before it's bed time 💤

What about all of you? 🙂

Good morning @lucysmam . I am just about to get up, having had breakfast in bed as usual. We're going to the cathedral for the Eucharist service this morning as my chorister grandson has a solo today. We will then take him back to his home for lunch, and we will pick him up again after evensong this evening.

We picked up a couple of big steaks when we were shopping today, but I think I overdid things a bit yesterday and I didn't feel well, so we're having those for our evening meal today, with fat chips and fried onions. I am looking forward to it! But then I was looking forward to it yesterday as well.....

LadyMacbethssweetArabianhand · 13/10/2024 09:06

Good morning Lucysmam and others. I've had two coffees and a slice of toast, my usual breakfast. The tumble dryer is on with the last of the washing. I'll do a small ironing later. Dinner will be a chicken pot pie. I'll make the filling shortly in the slow cooker. This afternoon I'll visit mum. And that'll be Sunday. Enjoy your day all.

Topsy44 · 13/10/2024 09:11

Good morning Lucysman and All!

Having a nice lazy Sunday today as was out all day yesterday seeing family so feel justified to not do much today. Will shortly put a wash on and make myself another cuppa.

I’ve got a new book to read so will enjoy getting into that for a bit and will then call my Mum which is usually a long one as she does like to chat!

Online shop coming at midday and hopefully DD will get going on her maths homework and then we’ll be watching the last episodes of Young Sheldon tonight.

Crunchymum · 13/10/2024 09:12

Happy Sunday.

Lazy morning here. Shopping due soon and I'll get some ironing done. Kids finishing off homework.

Have my 3 nieces coming over this afternoon / evening (so I'll have 5 girls age 6-12 and poor DS). I plan an hour or two in the park and then we'll be getting out all the board games and then probably a film.

Have oven pizzas, garlic bread, potato salad, coleslaw, salad, dips and ice cream for dinner.

Girls not due to be collected until 8pm (my BIL and SIL have an afternoon event they couldn't take the girls to) so then I'll be wrangling my overexcited kids to bed!!

dontforgetme · 13/10/2024 09:14

Good morning @lucysmam and all.

No plans today which I'm grateful for. Have had an awful cold for 8 days now and very much looking forward to a day of doing fuck all. Roast chicken for dinner but with thick chips instead of roasties. Really fancy chips and gravy, it's ds' absolute favourite.

TheCatCameBack112 · 13/10/2024 09:18

Morning @lucysmam and all. This morning I am continuing 'operation housemove'. We are expecting agents for marketing photos and hopefully some early viewings this week. We hired a Rug Doctor carpet cleaner and did the hall and stairs yesterday and one of the mattresses. Today I will do landing, bedrooms and the other mattresses. I've already tidied dds room (she's currently at uni) and put fresh sheets on. Of course one of my naughty cats is straight on the fresh bed snoozing.
The other little guy is asleep on me as I have brought a cup of coffee back to bed with some toast and berries.

Dh is at work, he has a list of little jobs to do when he gets home. Ds still in bed, he might help me with the carpets later. If I have time I will have my usual Sunday bath with my products, otherwise a quick shower and then I will pop round to my cousins as it is her birthday today, then have some ironing to catch up on. Dinner is pasta bake, a glass of red and maybe an episode of something this evening. We haven't started rings of power season 2 yet, so maybe that.

Hope everyone has a good day.

mamaduckbone · 13/10/2024 09:23

Good morning @lucysmam and all.
I woke up early, so have already made the filling for tonight's beef and mushroom pie and put it in the slow cooker.
I'm currently lazing on the sofa with a coffee watching the last episode of Nightsleeper, which is far fetched and a bit rubbish but I'm invested in finding out how it ends.
Dh and ds2 have already headed off to rugby. I'll join them at 11 to watch the match.
This afternoon will be homework for ds, finishing off some bits of work for me, dinner, a bath and an early night. I'm fending off a rotten cough and cold so haven't got much energy.

ShipshapeShore · 13/10/2024 09:23

Quiet day for me, I want to spend some time mulling some things over. What we need for half term holiday, start to think about Christmas plans and purchases, what needs doing to the house, if I'm brave enough to look for a better paid job... quite a lot really!

@Topsy44 I think it's going to be emotional watching. We knew what was going to happen last week but I still wasn't prepared!

BitOutOfPractice · 13/10/2024 09:25

Morning. I love these threads. Very soothing aren’t they?

was woken up by the warm up for the marathon that starts in the park I live in.

Im going to the gym then home for brunch and some Much needed cleaning. I have a bit of work to do then a swift half in the pub and home for fish pie for tea.

Sourisblanche · 13/10/2024 09:29

Morning! Had a shower, tea and toast and put a wash on.

Now back in bed for 10 mins thinking about day. Another one mulling over stuff, planning a Christmas break as it will be the first one without my mum but teens have plans for NY and want to be here…

Anyhow, French homework and two hours watching ds play football will fill the afternoon. At some point I will need to feed people!

ProvincialLady2024 · 13/10/2024 09:30

Sunday is sporty day for DC, fortunately DH has taken on the responsibility for taxi driving them to various pitches and arenas.

I'm in bed with tea and toast and my spooky book.

Have to wash and sort uniforms etc.

Walk the dog.

Roast pork this evening and then watch Simon Reeves.

Decafflatteplease · 13/10/2024 09:35

Morning @lucysmam and all. Sounds like you have a lovely day planned.

I was up early with our youngest as Sunday is DH lie in, I have Saturdays. We've played a game while I drank my tea, made us some porridge, it's a beautiful crisp sunny day here so got the bedding drying on the line, simple pleasures.

This afternoon we are off to MILs for a late lunch/early tea.

Then of course it's self care Sunday 😁 I really want to finish my book, I'm going into town tomorrow so I can return it to the library if it's finished.

Have a lovely Sunday all!

@ProvincialLady2024 ooo what spooky book are you reading? I'm always looking for new recommendations for books and I like matching my reading to the seasons. I'm currently reading "The Mercies". Also what's the Simon reeve program? DH and I like him.

gingercat02 · 13/10/2024 09:42

Up, fed, watching the end of last night's strictly.
Off to PiYo in about half an hour. Need to put some washing on before then.
Unexpected rain yesterday kiboshed my garden plans, so hopefully, today will be better.
Roast beef for dinner and then getting ready for the week at work.

violetcuriosity · 13/10/2024 09:42

Morning @lucysmam your day sounds lovely, I think I might get in the habit of having a weekly scrubby shower.

Both kids stayed at my parents last night so we actually slept until 8:15 which never usually happens, we both needed it though.

I've just done the Asda online shop for tomorrow morning in bed with a tea. Will get up in a minute and have a shower then clean the bathrooms and change the beds. We'll then go and pick up the kids, timed nicely to coincide with the baby's long nap when we get back 😂 then we're off to a pumpkin patch this afternoon with my parents and brother then back to theirs for a pork roast.

When we get home I'll lay out uniforms for the week and have an early night ready for a big week at work, I've been asked to do an hour long presentation at a conference on Friday (I'm an assistant head in a special school) so I need to be brave and accept that it's happening and will be fine!! X

Vinorosso74 · 13/10/2024 09:45

I was up early to go and do my cat sit, will pop back again this evening. He's a sweet old boy.
Came home, had breakfast and coffee. Just showered then meeting a friend to buy her a belated birthday lunch so a pub roast for lunch!

OldTinHat · 13/10/2024 09:45

Morning @lucysmam and all!

My new old rescue dog are meeting up with my dog trainer friend shortly for a walk along the beach, some lunch and more dog manners lessons. Dog is 8 and came from a miserable background so we have lots of work to do.

This afternoon will be slumped on the settee watching a film and a noodle salad for tea (me, not dog!).

salcombebabe · 13/10/2024 09:46

I’m staying at my daughter’s while she and hubby have on their honeymoon 🥰 First day here today so planning what I can do to help ‘spring clean’ for when they get back, but first I’m off to a 6 year old’s birthday party 🥳

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/10/2024 09:47

Lots of homemade chips planned for today! We’re also having them, with vegan steak pies and gravy, plus homemade ‘mashy’ peas.

Not much planned before that as yesterday was very busy. We’ll probably have a walk to buy some fresh bread for lunch and then I hope to use some large scraps to hotchpotch a toile of a new sewing pattern. Either that or make a bread and butter pudding!

thegirlwithapearl · 13/10/2024 09:50

I am having breakfast with DD1 who is doing some research on dog breeds. She's 9 and is desperate for one! The kitchen table is covered with bits of paper and dog books. She has asked everyone to vote for two breeds with name suggestions, and is writing out pros and cons of each one.
DS and DD2 are having a teddy bears picnic in the playroom.
DH is in the shower.
Today we are off out to a National Trust place with my DM for her birthday. It's one we haven't been to before and apparently there is lots to do so we're looking forward to it. Lunch at the restaurant and hopefully a good long walk to clear away the cobwebs.
When we get home I'm going to do a chicken pie with mash and cabbage.
I need to write names into new school jumpers and get everything ready for school photos tomorrow.

Begaydocrime94 · 13/10/2024 10:02

Morning all :) my partner has gone for a walk with his family so it’s just me and my 8 year old girl all day :) today will be watching episodes of bake off and drag race, baking and a bit of painting with the girl, chicken fajitas for tea tonight :)

idrinkandknowthings · 13/10/2024 10:06

Yesterday was my birthday and today it's my lads - so we both have birthday money to spend thus we're off to spend it! He's requested tacos for tea so that's what we're having along with birthday cake!

RabbitsRock · 13/10/2024 10:06

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone. Managed to have a bit of a lie in as I got to bed at 1am after watching “ Us”. Not really a film to see before trying to sleep! I would have slept longer but have stomachache 😢 DH made us a cuppa & I am thinking very hard about getting up! Need to pop into town & possibly nip to Asda. I’m making smothered pork steaks in the slow cooker for tea - we’ve had them before & the meat just melts in your mouth. Serving with roasties & steamed green beans. I want to catch up with “ All Creatures Great & Small” & DH & I might watch a film or Greys Anatomy.

Morning all 🙂

I'm relaxing in bed with a cuppa, eating bacon, eggs and toast.
Husband is pottering about.
Child 2 is making an omelet and listening to music in the kitchen.
Child 3 is in his room, gaming.
Eldest is at work
Youngest will come back from her Dad's about 1pm.
Just put washing on, will run hoover round later. Then we'll all go for a windy dog walk this afternoon and come back to a roast which husband usually makes.
Then it's baths/showers, homework and chilling until bed.
