I’m looking at moving to Seaton Crewe,
why are people so negative about this place. Hopefully there are some more positive information about the place.
its a new development called
Seaton Meadows 🤷‍♀️

Hi
I live in seaton Carew and love it but wouldn't consider seaton meadows part of seaton Carew it's on seaton lane which is the road heading into seaton if that makes sense and the area opposite it is very undesirable

BeSereneSloth · 08/10/2024 11:35

Oh gosh, what do you mean undesirable?
im worried now 🤷‍♀️.

Sorry but the area opposite Seaton Meadows is know as Scally Alley..... I live on the actual seafront.. Message when you are here and I will show you round!!

Blusterydaytodaypoohbear · 08/10/2024 11:42

The BMW on the corner is the local drug lord......

mllke · 08/10/2024 11:53

Honestly depending on your budget I would buy in seaton Carew we live just behind the staincliffe hotel and it's a lovely quiet area, I would avoid seaton meadows can't comment on what the estate is like but I really wouldn't live anywhere near Jutland road

Blusterydaytodaypoohbear · 08/10/2024 11:55

Lots of nice houses for sale around Warrior Drive..

mllke · 08/10/2024 12:00

I think it's longer than a 10 minute walk was it definitely seaton meadows on seaton lane?

Blusterydaytodaypoohbear · 08/10/2024 12:39

Easy to walk in 10 mins.... My dc use to run past there on way home after school.... Have you got dc op? Consider schools...

BeSereneSloth · 08/10/2024 16:08

If it’s that awful, we might not be moving up there 😢

BeSereneSloth · 08/10/2024 20:06

Honestly seaton Carew is a beautiful place we don't have coastal views but I wouldn't move, just make sure it is seaton Carew and not surrounding areas not saying they are all bad mind.

BeSereneSloth · 09/10/2024 20:19

What does ddog op. Mean please.

OP posts:
allmannerofthingshallbewell · 09/10/2024 20:21

ddog means ‘dear/darling dog’ along the same lines as DD, DH, etc.

OP means original poster.

so they were asking whether you have a dog :)

KingOfPeace · 09/10/2024 20:24

I think it means dear dog. Sounds like you do have one, lovely place to walk a dog.

I like Seaton, it's relaxed and beautiful and good value.

Do you know anything ne around there already? I wouldn't move somewhere without taking advice on the area. Everywhere has some localised dodgy areas. Have you bought?

AutumnalCosiness · 09/10/2024 20:29

Good luck with your move OP 💚

I'm nearly 70 and have fond memories of Seaton Carew. My grandparents lived in Hartlepool and we'd go there for our holidays as we lived in the South. The nearest beach was Seaton Carew and was lovely in the 60s. We'd spend most of our days there. I think it went downhill but is back on the up.
