I’m looking at moving to Seaton Crewe,
why are people so negative about this place. Hopefully there are some more positive information about the place.
its a new development called
Seaton Meadows 🤷‍♀️

I don’t know the area much, I was born in Seaburn Sunderland. We used to go to Crimdin dene as kids.

It's Seaton Carew mind!!. Not Crewe...
The houses on Seaton Meadows are very very crammed in together. .. My mate lives there....

BeSereneSloth · 10/10/2024 13:15

Does your mate like it ?
I think all these new developments get as many houses in as possible 🤷‍♀️
how far is the development from the coast ?

I’ve looked on Google for TD25
and it is saying this is Seaton Crewe, post code 🤞🤞 🤷‍♀️

Ts25 covers a few different areas in Hartlepool which covers seaton Carew but not exclusively.

BeSereneSloth · 10/10/2024 17:08

Oh. Ok thank you

TS is the postcode for the area.

Seaton Carew is lovely, I wouldn't personally buy Seaton meadows. The houses are typical new built over priced for the land and space offered but nice enough. Seem to be good quality on the face of it.

But as another poster as pointed out - you're opposite one of the worst areas in the town, a single residential road away from a really shitty area. That alone would put me off.

Without sounding snobby. I wouldn't be parting with the money asked to have to say "it's just off Seaton lane" anytime anyone asked.

There's plenty of nice areas in Hartlepool though. If you drive you could live pretty much anywhere in town and be on the seafront in ten minutes either at Seaton or the headland.

IggyAce · 10/10/2024 17:55

I like Seaton, I live around a 10 minute drive away, so often visit for a walk along the seafront. My kids enjoy the amusements and a lemon top. I’d consider looking a little closer in Seaton.

Thank you for your response.
we are looking at a number of houses in that area , so we will see.
i think we will have to go up again and look around the outer areas of houses.🤔

Seaton carew is lovely! But seaton meadows isn't Seaton carew and as others have said the estate opposite isn't nice.

If you are looking at Seaton make sure your the other side of the railway line!

Stankwain · 10/10/2024 18:46

How can you not know how it's spelt?!

In any case the estate over the way is indeed verrrry rough. And Whitethorn Gardens, which I think your new estate backs onto, has a supported living scheme in it, which houses some rather lively service users. They're rentals.

BeSereneSloth · 10/10/2024 17:02

How do you know 🤔

Because I've been there many times.

BeSereneSloth · 10/10/2024 22:01

Woops

TattiePants · 10/10/2024 22:33

I can't offer any help with Seaton Carew but if you were born in Seaburn would you not consider moving back? The city centre isn't great (it is getting lots of investment) but the coast is beautiful. Or Seaham, lots of new builds and another stretch of gorgeous coastline.

BeSereneSloth · 11/10/2024 08:18

Morning 👋. And does she like living there? I’m getting a bit despondent about moving there !!!!
Please something positive about the place.
i was so looking forward to moving up, now im not so sure. What with drug dealers and such 😢

I would love to, but the properties here are much more affordable for us ….
