What’s your superpower?

Two questions, the first is in the title- what’s your superpower?

The second is, if you were asked this as an ice breaker at the start of a team-building whatsit, would you think it was wanky?

Mine is that onions have no power over me, I could chop a hundred of them with no tears.

@Apolloneuro just for you 😂

What’s your superpower?

I can remember most conversations verbatim and can thus quote people or dispute misquotes.

This one freaks me out the most!!

TaggySits · 03/10/2024 22:55

Today my superpower has been not punching my husband in the nuts when he's been really annoying.

I'm not sure if I'll have this superpower tomorrow though...

Vonda1234 · 03/10/2024 23:03

I have an actual superpower. I can catch spiders with my cupped hands and release them outside. I have been a superhero at home and work many times with this skill.

Attelina · 03/10/2024 23:08

I can talk to the animals! Well not exactly talk but animals gravitate to me and I have a way with them, especially dogs.

Nervous or aggressive dogs become calm around me.

Needless to say I have six dogs!

therainmakerabroad · 03/10/2024 23:15

I make it rain. This is unfortunate since I work in the holiday industry. My friends always want to know where I am working next, so they can book their holiday somewhere else. I went to take part in a sports competition earlier this year in Spain. There had been a 2 year drought, but it rained solid for the entire 2 days of competition I was there for. I could be rich if only I could bottle it! Think of all the fires I could put out in Greece!

ProvincialLady2024 · 03/10/2024 23:17

Reading a room.

It's a wanky question and I wouldn't be honest in a "team bonding" scenario.

FaintlyMacabre · 03/10/2024 23:21

Making the correct volume of something like gravy/sauce/smoothie to fill a receptacle without measuring anything at all. I’ll often make something, pick a jug or glass at random to pour it into and it’s a perfect fit.
I can also measure butter and cheese by eye.

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 03/10/2024 23:23

My actual superpower is that I'm freakishly good at learning foreign languages for some reason. I'd never say that at a team event though, because I would sound like an arse so I'd have to find something else. Probably something like needing very little sleep.

Ineffable23 · 03/10/2024 23:30

It's a moderately wanky question but no more than I'd expect of a team building day.

My suggestion would be to give people a few minutes to cogitate on it while you talk about housekeeping for the day. You'll get much more interesting answers that way.

I think my superpower is digesting massive volumes of information at once and then seeing how that information influences what I already know.

Speechless. 🤣

I lucid dream and can fly in my dreams instead of falling. It’s a lot of fun.

I’d never admit it as an icebreaker because it’s such a wanky answer.

I swim through the air in my dreams.

I'm also excellent in a real life crisis.

Dinosaurlover · 04/10/2024 00:29

I'm really good at learning a new skill very quickly for a specific reason, achieving passable but not amazing competence and then never doing it again.

Babamamananarama · 04/10/2024 00:42

I am very fast at generating ideas and also at seeing the bigger picture from lots of smaller bits of information.

Can guess the time to the 5 minutes.

Also I can swallow a handful of different sized pills in one go.

I'm actually quite good at team building...

Yamantau · 04/10/2024 01:37

My answer would be : depends on how you define the word and the meaning of a superpower

Strokethefurrywall · 04/10/2024 03:13

My superpower is knowing how many weeks pregnant a woman is. Stranger/friend, it doesn't matter.

Someone could tell me their wife's pregnant, I'll see them again random weeks later and I'll say "oh you're what, 27 weeks" and I'm always right.

It's weird and totally not born of any knowledge of their due date. So weird, so useless, yet a super power nonetheless. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

You sound unpleasant. I wonder what people on here would say if your DH came on and said he'd like to punch his wife in the vulva for being annoying. Unacceptable even as a joke.

I can fall asleep really quickly and practically anywhere. It really takes the sting out of long journeys.

I would love this superpower! (Note the time of this post, currently in the grip of insomnia)

Pudmyboy · 04/10/2024 03:50

Wibblywobblybobbly · 03/10/2024 19:06

I can sleep at will. I really don't understand how people have trouble falling asleep. I wish I could work out how I do it, then I run classes and make my fortune.

I would be the first to sign up!

Grendell · 04/10/2024 03:54

I can sustain my attention for hours doing something tedious I don't really care about - such as doing my job.

RogersOrganismicProcess · 04/10/2024 06:45

Another one with an internal gps but I can’t verbalise how I know where to go, it’s just intuitive.

Also I appear to magnetically soothing and jollying to children (including teens) and adults with additional needs. Like the pied piper without a pipe! Again I couldn’t explain it if I tried.

While that definitely is a kind of superpower, it might not be wise to divulge it at a work-related event 😂

sashh · 04/10/2024 08:00

I can tell the difference between the weight of things that are very similar. I only found out this was a superpower when I said something to my career about my 'heavier' kindle. He ended up weighing them, one is 4g heavier than the other.

entirely up to you, though we will all be particularly impressed if you can actually make yourself invisible or fly
