Night alone. What would you do. What would you eat?

Just that really. DP is working away and I have the place to myself. I'm thinking a nice long bath, something really lazy to eat (probably a ready made lasagne) and lots of chocolate. Not very exciting but I'm tired today. Just wondering what others do or would do with a whole night to themselves?

I’d have a hot shower, Chinese to myself with some programme DP won’t watch like Real Housewives, and go to sleep an hour early!!

I’d take myself off for a couple of hours down the spa, maybe convince my sister to come with me and either get dinner there or a takeaway when I got home. Light the fire and relax.

Oh the last time I had a whole night to myself was probably 5 years ago now.

I had a 2 hour bath, put on new PJs, got into a bed with fresh bedding, and ate a whole rack of ribs while watching greys anatomy.

Easily the best night of my life.

When my husband works away me and our daughter share a pizza and chips from the pizza place or a curry from the takeaway. No cooking, not even ready meals 😀
When she's in bed i chill on the sofa with a wine or chocolates and any of my shows that he hates

Dominos pizza.
A few beers
Move all the furniture out of the way so I can play one of the VR games that needs a good amount of space
Then probably a good film and bed way too late.

All of these sound good to me. I CBA with takeaway as we live in an apartment and it means getting dressed and going down for the food and I'm home now and in my pjs already lol. So I've been and got a silver foil cottage pie from M&S (I shall lather tiger bread with butter and make a filthy sandwich.) I grabbed some beers as well and some chocolate, oh and fizzy fish (heaven.) DP just text to ask what I'll be watching. He's watching one of his horror films in his hotel room. I hate these so that's one under his belt he won't be watching at home. I really can't decide but will probably find a documentary on netflix. I'm not a huge escapism fan. Much prefer factual type TV.

My DH is going away for 3 nights at the end of the month. I'm intending to eat ready-meals and toast. I'm going to have long baths and spend a lot of time in bed. I'm also going to spend some time on my craft. I may also go to lunch with my daughter. Me too. It's fab isn't it? When I moved into my place I had no idea what to eat or watch on TV as he always decided. 5+ years on and I still love it. My watchlist and recordings are full of films and mini-series and I've learnt to cook curries from scratch, my favourite food (which he didn't like so we never had).

OP, your silver tray cottage pie and tiger bread sounds lush. What did you watch in the end?

I know it's not the point in the thread but are these things really only possible for people on this thread when your dh/dps are away for the night? Long hot baths/watching crap TV or things you only like etc, ready meals/whatever you fancy to eat, early/late nights, beers?

I know it's nice to do stuff together and enjoy each others company but you really can't take a 2 hour bath and eat chocolate/a takeaway unless he's gone for the evening 🤨

Obviously not. They’re just things you might do less often. If I get a Chinese with DP I have to share the prawn crackers, so if I’m alone I get a Chinese so I can have them all to myself. It’s not that serious.

I'd just get 2 portions of prawn crackers if I didn't want to share.

Just seems bizarre that women will only do certain things to indulge themselves when he's away such as long baths/treat foods/chocolate/going to bed to laze about etc

Husband away for a week. Have just enjoyed getting up quite late, walking the dog ,eating a late breakfast,meeting friends,watching rubbish TV ,drinking any kind of coffee/ alcohol…am thoroughly enjoying the solitude TBH !
Edited to say that I can do all the above but even better when I’m on my own 😊

Oh I do..just when he's away I do it on acid..super over indulge because I miss him. It's so allowed. He's much cleverer than me and a very high earner. So quiet and very sweet. I on the other hand is a gobshite and doesn't know how he puts up with me. There's no mysoginy here

I have the same relationship OP. He is a quiet sweetheart, and I too am a total gobshite ruffian.

I'm a total psycho introvert who would be happy alone in an empty room for days on end. I love my husband more than I could describe, but I enjoy when he occasionally works away just for the sheer solitude.
