SameOldMeals · 20/09/2024 15:35

I’d appreciate it if people could please list the meals that they regularly make as I really need to find some to add to my repertoire and I’m tired of making the same old thing.

TIA

I’ll list mine..

Cottage pie
Chilli
Paella
Cajun prawn and chorizo pasta
Chicken enchiladas
Macaroni cheese
Chinese chicken curry(Sometimes I just use veg)
Fish with potatoes/and or cauliflower cheese and green vegetables
Chicken Tetrazzini
Soup
Quesadillas
Fajitas
Mushroom stroganoff
Shakshuka
Omelettes

I think that’s about it.

Its just DH and myself, no kids, so I often make spicy, Thai dishes, along with more 'regular' meat and several veg. We both WFH, so lunches are often a quick pasta, but they could be an evening meal too.

  • Pasta bake with either bacon, salmon or tuna
  • Fajitas
  • Fish cakes with salad (made with either salmon or tuna). They can be made in bulk and frozen.
  • Quiche with salad/new potatoes
  • Carbonara, spaghetti Bolognese or carbonara (pimped) with added in peas/spinach/mushrooms or whatever else I have
  • Sometimes I buy cheap, frozen pizza bases then add additional ingredients- mushrooms, bacon/ham, chopped garlic, olives etc and add spinach or rocket when they come out of the oven
  • This curry is delicious. I've made it with pork, chicken or just spinach and chickpeas

Oh just remembered that this is another fave at the moment, made it quite regularly recently. So many of mine are pasta based!

I’m also loving protein of some kind - sausages, chicken or fish - with one of those merchant gourmet pouches of mixed grains and lentils, and some broccoli/ sugarsnap peas/ whatever veg we have in.

I often need inspiration, so have this on the back of the meal plan which goes on the fridge - saves writing it out again!

Edit to say, daughter was quite young when she tried to add onto the list - hopefully she can spell correctly now!
