Help! I don't have room for 6 winter coats!

Which should I keep? help! I need to get rid of 3 to charity shop!

1- perfect fit and very snug
2- perfect for camping, light weight, easy to pack, but warm ish and can double as a blanket
3- lovely colour and many functional pockets! found second hand - does not fit but is to inspire me to lose 2 stone!
4- Does not suit me much, but is potentially the only one I could lend to an adult daughter or son as it is the only "cool" one - if they every get caught here in bad weather without a coat
5- personalised with my name from previous work place - also a good camping coat
6- Bright and colourful with reflective bits, waterproof. Good for dark mornings. But actually not very comfortable

Which shall I keep!?

Get rid of 3, 4 and 6!

Keep only what is useful/comfortable now, which is 1, 2 and 5. If you lose the weight you can reward yourself with a new coat.

Get rid of 4&6

Keep 1,2 and 5. Ditch the ones that don’t fit or flatter, and give 4 to one of the DC if they want it.

No. 3 is a waste unless you're definitely going to lose the two stone.
No. 4 - do you have an adult daughter or son who'd want to borrow it? If so, offer it to them now. If they don't want it, then donate.

Keep 1 and 2 and ditch the rest that are 'just in case' coats. Then whichever one you are most bothered about ditching you can add back into the keep pile! You don't need 2 camping coats. Your children can bring their own. You can buy a new coat if you lose the weight.

Just looking again, I'd actually keep only 1 and either 2 OR 5 (I'm assuming 1 is not suitable for camping or you'd have said). And since 5 is personalised, it's unlikely that it would be of any use to a charity shop so I'd be inclined to get rid of 2 and keep only 1 and 5.

4 can you put it in a vacuum bag and store elsewhere? If not, give it to one of your DC. They will have to choose between cool and cold if they need to borrow a coat.

wow - I am going to look into this idea!

Vacuum bag the cool coat and the high vis and shove them in your boot for emergencies. Donate three and celebrate your future weight loss with a nice replacement for the snug one which will by that point no longer be a nice fit.

Only number one unless you actually go camping, if you do then number two as well.
