The whole school was put into lockdown after the incident.

Why doesn't it surprise you?

Why not? It’s hardly a regular occurrence. Awful incident and I hope all involved will be ok.

How awful and terrifying

Are you referring to the mental health crisis in this country?

Or maybe the fact that a lot of schools are having trouble with out of control pupils?

I'd say this, never told no, that's not right, don't do that. You see on here parents 'fumming' and ready to go nuclear at the teacher/school... for telling a child off/expecting them to follow the rules...
Awaiting (like a previous thread) people to post 'well thats what you have to expect when you teach/nurse/police..

Haveagreatday24 · 24/04/2024 19:16

Very shocking.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 24/04/2024 19:25

Very scary. I was in a meeting today with someone who knows a teacher at Aman and she was very relieved to hear that she was safe.

No doubt excuses will be made...

justasking111 · 24/04/2024 19:27

It's been filmed probably circulating on TIK TOK. It's shocking to us in Wales.

This isn't new, though. My children are now in their 30s. I vividly remember another mother moaning that her daughter, then aged about 8 or 9, and her best friend had been moved to opposite sides of the class because they wouldn't stop chatting during lessons despite repeated reminders. The mother had been in to beg the class teacher to let them sit together again because they were so miserable apart. What really took me to town (to channel my 91yo mother) was that the moaning mother was a teacher herself. Hmm

This is a horrible case in Wales. I hope the injuries aren't serious.

And, as I forgot to say above, another teacher/parent back then shocked me to my core when we were talking about the 1995 murder of Philip Lawrence, the West London headteacher who was stabbed to death outside the gates of his school when he went to the aid of a pupil who was being attacked by a gang. She was an extreme left winger and her view was that he had brought the violence on himself by trying to make various changes at the school. (I should be clear I mostly have great respect for teachers - it's a very tough job and I couldn't do it. But the odd one shows a worrying lack of common sense. Far more parents who aren't teachers do similar, of course.)

Fucking hell @Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g (great name! Kind of a wolf?...)
That's a frightening mindset.

Moier · 24/04/2024 19:46

It's happening more and more.. one boy was stabbed here at school last week.. all over a girl.. they are 13 years old.
So glad my Grandkids are home educated.

No, Terry Pratchett character. Yes, I found it terrifying to think she might be teaching impressionable kids. I imagine she's retired now.

Very shocking. When you think of how many teenagers are in one space and with the increased behavioural problems in many schools, I am surprised this type of incident doesn’t happen more. There is a school in my area with 2500 pupils.

The kind of a wolf is a Gaspode quote from Sir TP, but I do realise probably not appropriate for this discussion so I do apologise to op and.others.
