Hoping to have a mini break in London in August, including a musical. If you’ve seen The Lion King, would you recommend it?

I took DD to see it years ago. We both loved it.

Imisscoffee2021 · 06/04/2024 20:34

It's fantastic, stage design, costume and lighting so great and songs live very powerful.

Feelingstrange2 · 06/04/2024 20:34

I loved it. The story and songs were good but it.was the puppetry that amazed me. Its sort of Disneyesque.

It's very marmite though. I know a lot of people who didn't rate it at all and the non discounted prices for shows are eye-watering now.

Yes took my 9yo son to see it in January he loved it as did I and DH

Belindabelle · 06/04/2024 20:36

Saw it years ago at the Lyceum and loved it. Went last year in Edinburgh and it was rubbish. That could just be me though. With young children it’s fantastic as an adult not so much.

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 06/04/2024 20:38

I loved it.

However, three Lion King is always around. If you want something amazing and less easy to see them go see Hades Town.

MaMisled · 06/04/2024 20:39

I laughed, cried and wanted to dance! I went last November. It's a wonderful show.

Guineaguineaguinea · 06/04/2024 20:39

Seen it twice and it’s not for me. Matilda is fabulous, seeing it for the third time this year!

DanceMumTaxi · 06/04/2024 20:40

It was ok, wouldn’t go again.

mrstambourinewoman · 06/04/2024 20:40

Loved the beginning then found it tedious . Dcs weren't mad about it either

Soccermumamir · 06/04/2024 20:40

Seen it twice and both times it was brilliant. Would definitely recommend 🙂

karmakameleon · 06/04/2024 20:41

The animals are amazing but after that it’s a long slog to the end. It’s just too long.

Bellyfullofbiscuits · 06/04/2024 20:42

Loved it. Go 😍

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 06/04/2024 20:43

I've seen it more than once, it's that good.

Newuser75 · 06/04/2024 20:48

It's great. I've seen it three times now, both kids loved it too.

RichPetunia · 06/04/2024 20:52

Saw it years ago. Wasn't a fan and the thing that stuck with me was a lead actor enunciating so profoundly that his saliva flew everywhere. Felt sorry for others on stage who were in close proximity. It was mesmerising and gross all at the same time.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 06/04/2024 21:04

I loved it and have seen it twice

RabbitsRock · 06/04/2024 21:27

It’s very Disney and mainstream, so yes if you like that.

Boredmum24 · 06/04/2024 21:30

Loved it.would happily see it again

Eleesah · 06/04/2024 21:32

Back to The Future Musical is fantastic and much more reasonably priced. Have seen it several times :)

Haven’t seen the Lion Ling as the reviews didn’t seem to justify the price tag.

Bigearringsbigsmile · 06/04/2024 21:34

Yes. It's spectacular. Really wonderful.

WoodBurningStov · 06/04/2024 21:35

Yes I took my dd and went with some friends and we all thought it was amazing

I agree. I've seen both twice. Would see Matilda again, but not fussed about Lion King.

TeenLifeMum · 06/04/2024 21:37

Yes, I cried during the opening song because it was so beautiful and overwhelming. Dh thought it was hilarious as mufasa hadn’t even died yet. I love musicals and lion king is one of my favourites.
