Bean to cup coffee machines

Do you recommend?

I have a nespresso & thinking of getting a bean to cup machine. If you have one, do you recommend? I want to be sure it would be worth the cost, they're pretty expensive!

I have a delonghi magnifica and it’s really good

EVHead · 04/04/2024 18:40

I have the same - love it! I bought it during the first lockdown. If I’m ever lucky enough to get a new kitchen, I want a built-in one!

We have had a Siemens one for 3 years and love it. I could do not do without it now. Well with the money !

Me too!

Ooo I want one too. Bought a krupps one but it broke after 2 weeks (went into self cleaning mode and wouldn’t stop), but I miss the coffee so much and need a new one!!

And me, great!

Honestly I had the sage barista one, I ended up going back to Nespresso and now have a Creatista (the touch screen one!). I found the sage one unpredictable and it just wasn't consistent, constantly needed the grind etc changing to actually get a good shot of espresso plus the milk was slightly more faff. We prefer the reliability of the Nespresso and because it uses original shaped pods we can buy really good pods for great prices.

We have a Melitta barista ts smart. It's awesome and does loads of different types of coffee. Also has 2 dispensers so normal coffee and decaf.

Mumaway · 04/04/2024 18:54

Love ours. We had a saeco that lasted many years, but it has died recently. I picked up a well used Krups for £30 on eBay and it's awesome!

Petrine · 04/04/2024 18:57

I have a Sage Barista Express. I love it.

dothehokeycokey · 04/04/2024 19:06

Second the delonghi magnifica bean to cup machine.

I treated myself to one at Xmas and it brings me a cup of pleasure every morning when I make a coffee in peace before the day starts

Awrite · 04/04/2024 19:09

We have a really expensive one. Dh loves it. However, it broke and I have no idea how to get it fixed. Yes, I suppose I could Google but as I don't use it, I'm waiting to see how long it takes DH to sort.

He would recommend, yes.

Focalpoint · 04/04/2024 19:12

I have a Delonghi one. For me, the coffee it makes is just not hot enough so I pretty much have gone back to instant.

Lemonademoney · 04/04/2024 19:15

Sage Barista Pro - honestly I love it. The flavour is so much better than any pod machine I’ve owned (I’ve had a few and really liked them until I made the switch. If/when this one finally breaks I will have another bean to cup. Worth every penny.

Bluevelvetsofa · 04/04/2024 19:25

Another Magnifica owner.

Same! It's been used daily since 2018 and still going strong. I love my own coffee now, it's better than from a coffee shop.

ScrummyDiva2 · 04/04/2024 19:37

Another vote for the Delonghi- absolutely love it!

Downinloco · 04/04/2024 19:40

Yet another vote for Magnifica. Love bean to cup machines at home, best kitchen purchase. Well worth the money and tons on FB marketplace.

PeanutAndBanana · 04/04/2024 19:43

Now, I have a Delonghi Magnífica and want to love it but the milk frother is a touch disappointing.
Sometimes I get good foam but other times it's just warm diluted milk. What am I doing wrong?

JaneSeymourTheOnlyOneHeTrulyLoved · 04/04/2024 19:45

I have a Sage one, it’s fab. It’s so much cheaper to buy bags of beans too rather than pods. I froth the milk in the Velvetiser though even though it’s nicer using the milk frother but I can’t always be arsed.

Boopear · 04/04/2024 19:49

I have the delonghi magnifica as well and I loves it. You do need to descale regularly and soak the infuser thing at regular intervals (as I found to my cost 😳- well, the cost of a new part) but it has been going now for 5 years and counting.

wizzywig · 04/04/2024 19:51

How long do the coffee beans last for?

Skyrain · 04/04/2024 19:51

Another Delonghi Magnifica owner here - love it and would highly recommend.

There is a secret way of turning the temp up......I saw a youtube video on this but never did it as it's ok for me. But it involves pressing buttons in a certain sequence. <helpful>

Sorry, what infuser thing do I need to soak as I never have?!!!!!!
