How long would it take you to finish a bottle of wine?

DH is out and kids doing their own thing.
I opened a bottle of wine at 7pm - how long would it take you to polish it off...?

Alone 3 or 4 hours. With company only 2 hours.

leatherchapss · 02/02/2024 21:30

6 years..a thimble full over the next 6 Christmas days.

I'm a bit crazy bonkers me.

MonsteraMama · 02/02/2024 21:33

Well I opened mine about the same time and I'm about half way through. I'll probably finish it by bedtime. My Friday treat because husband and daughter go out, and I stay in and PJ up, curl up with the dogs, and watch the kind of shit films best watched alone with wine.

Months. Ive got a bottle of rose in the fridge, opened about 2 weeks ago, more than 2/3rds left.

girljulian · 02/02/2024 21:35

3-4 hours but it would be gone

I'd end up pouring about a third of it down the sink in a couple of weeks.

Me too!

3 nights 😅

Same. And usually FIL, who comes for dinner on Sunday will also have a small glass.

DNLove · 02/02/2024 21:50

Pretty sure I've never had leftover wine unless I've opened a second bottle. I bought one of those pump lids things for wine bottles years ago, I could count on one had how many times I've had a use for it. I've a high tolerance for alcohol and don't suffer from hangovers much. Feel fine after a bottle of wine, as in next morning. Always had a rule that if alcohol stopped my ability to function it'd be stopped. E. G. I've never missed work from the day I started drinking, 16 or so, to this day due to a hangover.
At the big age of 40 I'll have a bottle of wine twice a week. I feel that a glass or 2 a night is far worse.

CeriB82 · 02/02/2024 21:53

3 nights.

idontlikealdi · 02/02/2024 21:53

You'll get extremes her from a year to an hour.

LondonQueen · 02/02/2024 21:55

An hour, maybe 2? Then onto a second bottle.

NauseousNancy · 02/02/2024 21:56

I need some of this magical wine that lasts 3 nights.

Probably a few hours for me.

NannyGythaOgg · 02/02/2024 21:56

I drink a bottle frequently in an evening.

If I open it around 7, it is finished around 11pm. (Sometimes, when I go to bed at around 11, there is around 150ml left for another day

Veggieveggiecoke · 02/02/2024 22:02

About 2hrs .

AcridAndStanLee · 02/02/2024 22:02

Some of these replies are in the same vein as competitive under eating. Yawn.

I've done it in an hour when I've got a taste for it. Usually 2-2.5.

Sometimes I may have one glass on a Friday and finish the rest on Saturday but that's when I'm feeling super healthy.

dementedpixie · 02/02/2024 23:01

I'm on my 3rd glass which basically means the bottle is gone.

DanceMumTaxi · 02/02/2024 23:03

3 nights, but I don’t drink a lot.

blackpanth · 02/02/2024 23:14

2/3 nights

Bit unfair! I love a glass of wine but don't normally think about having one til I'm sat down with my tea once kids are in bed, by the time I've drunk that I'm ready to go to bed. So yeah, 3 nights. Sorry for being so boring!
P.S. I love my food so definitely make up the calories there 🤣

AcridAndStanLee · 03/02/2024 19:52

@Mummyofthewildones as per the image, ya boring!!!! Maybe when they're older you will drink like me 😀

@blackpanth I'd rather have an excessive amount of dumplings too

I have had both a bottle of wine and enough food to leave me hugely uncomfortable tonight. I'm a gluttonous pig. But very happy.

LoobyDop · 03/02/2024 19:55

It would probably last three nights. I don’t drink as much if I’m on my own- I drink more slowly and feel I’ve had as much as I want sooner.

UmbrellaBees · 03/02/2024 19:57

Two years ago - the evening, now 2-3 days.
