Favourite Teabags?

I’ve just quit drinking & like last time, I’m craving tea! Any teabag recommendations? We currently have some sort of mixed blend from M & S but DH prefers Tetley which I usually buy. Dmil always favoured Yorkshire tea.

I quite like strongish tea but hate the tanin taste. If that’s what it is.

We have Twinings breakfast and Earl grey.

I have a box of Yorkshire tea for the ILs but I don’t like it.

That sounds lovely

I have never heard of empress grey so will definitely check this out

Snowinsummer · 03/02/2024 05:43

Twinings Everyday

Clipper do really nice tea.

rainbowsparkle28 · 03/02/2024 06:47

Tetley or the M&S own brand ones in a red box (everyday range or whatever it is called...).

DeanElderberry · 03/02/2024 08:00

Barry's

Bhxquery · 03/02/2024 08:12

I like builders tea so it’s Yorkshire gold here

if l’m out somewhere fancy I’ll have Assam

LlynTegid · 03/02/2024 08:33

@DiamondsArentFood I agree with your choices. Never used to get Yorkshire tea when I was young, must be the impact of climate change!!

IwishIdidntlikesugar · 03/02/2024 09:08

When I was in Yorkshire I made myself a few cups of Yorkshire gold and it was disappointingly weak. What’s that all about??
I drink Yorkshire tea (not the gold one) pretty much exclusively in the South and it tastes good. PG Tips seems to have gone downhill and I feel very sad if I go somewhere and they only have Tetleys or Twinings.
Yorkshire Tea seems very expensive now though. It almost seems like a treat rather than a staple.

RadiatorHead · 03/02/2024 09:10

Yorkshire tea, malty biscuit (comes in a yellow box) Add a bit of sugar and it basically tastes like you’re drinking a biscuit 😋 In fact, might go and get a cup now. They also do a ‘Toast and Jam’ variety but I think that one’s a bit weird.

CaptainPliskin · 03/02/2024 09:18

Pg/Tetley or at times its a mix as to the offers

ohthehokey · 03/02/2024 09:21

Yorkshire.

Pg are the worst 🤮

lollipoprainbow · 03/02/2024 09:22

Thompsons

Carerandmum · 03/02/2024 09:22

Aldi red label is nice

noodles44 · 03/02/2024 09:24

Dorset tea is lovely (it used to be Yorkshire tea before I tried this)

Punxsatawnyphil · 03/02/2024 09:30

Yorkshire tea. I never used to be a tea snob, happy with supermarket own in the red box or even gold if I was feeling fancy. I've become a Yorkshire Tea fan since buying a huge bag at costco and now I'm completely won over.

Mairzydotes · 03/02/2024 09:36

Twinings Lady Grey .

I too am introgued by Empress grey and will search for some.

In terms of generic tea, I'm quite tolerant of most brands, as I find it's alright as long as I can put plenty sugar in .

ssd · 03/02/2024 09:39

I love Scottish blend, dh prefers Yorkshire tea.

I'm very particular about my teabags😊

Beenalongwinter · 03/02/2024 09:43

Dorset

DanceMumTaxi · 03/02/2024 09:45

Tetley for everyday. But I’ve also got some different flavours and early grey from Taylor’s.

ssd · 03/02/2024 09:49

Im intrigued by the mention of biscuit tea here. Is it really like having a biscuit with your tea? Which i do all the timeBlush.
Does drinking this tea stop you reaching into the biscuit tin??🤞

padmorn · 03/02/2024 09:50

M&S sell shortbread flavour tea and it is Devine I can't drink anything else now. Just a nice subtle flavour.

It’s not really like having a biscuit and it definitely doesn’t stop me from having one! Biscuit

It’s very tasty, though! The original ones from Yorkshire Tea are supposed to be like malted milks, so maybe it’s just the malty taste that works for me.
