What's the best instant coffee (normal and decaf)?

I want (need!) to restart intermittent fasting this week. Black coffee and green tea are a big part of my diet when I do this. So, I need a really nice coffee. It has to be instant for ease. And I need both caffeine and decaf options as I don't want to be wired!

I love kenco decaf, and actually really enjoy Morrisons own brand ‘normal’ coffee. Not their savers brand but the one up

SometimesNine · 29/01/2024 13:11

Illy is the best instant coffee. I stock up, every time it is on offer.

Azera

If you also want a, erm, laxative affect, I’d go for
L'OR Artiste Vigoroso Instant Coffee Intensity 8 😬😬

Queijo · 29/01/2024 13:13

The best by FAR is Nescafé Espresso powder. It has a proper crema! It’s delicious.

Best decaf probably Azera

Talipesmum · 29/01/2024 13:14

Azera is ok. I prefer coffee bags if I’m going instant - these are good and they have decaf options too:

I really like this one. Not the red one it's just powder like Millicano and Azera.

Azera for me, caff and decaff and those little orange plastic lids fit cans of soup beans etc. if you want to store half a can in the fridge.

New2024 · 29/01/2024 13:17

I can’t drink instant coffee. Not worth the bother of making. Just make half a cafetiere if you have one

WutheringMights · 29/01/2024 13:21

I don't drink decaf but here's my favourite full fat option from Aldi.

Azera for me.

Azera Americano.I stock up when on offer

DGPP · 29/01/2024 13:52

Azera americano. It’s the best instant out there

funnyfeets · 29/01/2024 23:13

@Queijo absolutely agree! I think the gold blend espresso powder is as good as proper coffee 😍

fourelementary · 29/01/2024 23:15

Dow Egberts decaf is nice

GetWhatYouWant · 29/01/2024 23:15

Azera decaff Americano.

Same

MegBusset · 29/01/2024 23:25

Aldi’s Barista is much nicer than Azera and half the price. The decaf is really nice.

sparklefart · 29/01/2024 23:30

I really like Littles not the flavoured ones though.

Completely agree and it's not dirty nestle either. Aldi barista decaf is ok - all of the decafs taste like fag ash but it's nice enough.

Serencwtch · 29/01/2024 23:39

Lidl do a version of azera powder that's good.

cardibach · 29/01/2024 23:41

Why instant? It’s as quick to make cafetière. Plus it actually tastes of coffee then.

Grimchmas · 29/01/2024 23:42

Azera caff and decaff and none of that aldi pretend filth if you please.

(Not an aldi snob, just a coffee snob).

M&S own brand blue lid decaf is also acceptable.

I watched a very good YouTube video where a man tested shed loads of instants. This one came out on top which prompted me to try it. Absolutely lovely.

Yes Percol all the way! But I love the espresso one, it doesn't have that horrible bitter burnt flavour that all the coffee in the uk has. It's barely available in any shops so I order online 6 jars at a time.
