I hate bedsocks!

It’s freezing in my house tonight so I’ve dug out the bedsocks. I’ve told the dc to put theirs on but I’ve taken mine off as they are so uncomfortable!

I can’t sleep without socks in bed unless it’s really hot! Can’t stand my cold feet touching each other (my feet are always cold).
I live in a cold cottage though with a downstairs bathroom and kittens that attack your feet while you sleep. Socks are a necessity!

I may have them off by June! Currently sporting thermals, flannel pyjamas, socks, 13.5t of duvet, a blanket and 2 felines.

No socks, but I have a heated mattress cover that I LOVE. I'm in Toronto and it's a total game changer.

And I still wear socks to bed when it's the height of summer.

Me too! I just like having my feet covered.

@@AlltheFs I am the same! Socks, thermal top under my PJs, warm duvet, thick quilt on top. I just need a cat!

For years and years and years I thought my mother was mad as a snake for wearing socks to bed. How absolutely horrible and unbearable! I couldn't imagine anything more uncomfortable.

I am now my mother.

I've got some. They're the best although you do need to handwash them (occasionally!)
I also recommend an electric over blanket and a DH going to bed first to pre-warm the bed.

I also hate bed socks. And socks in general. I only wear them when I put my shoes on, otherwise they're off and I just have slippers.

I read something ages ago about wearing socks in bed being bad for the quality of your sleep, I think it was something to do with temperature but I can't remember the details. I haven't worn socks in bed since, I wear bed socks for lounging then take them off when I get into bed.

Our house is cold but I have lots of warm bedding and am always snug in bed.

Menopause puts an end to any of this. I'm so hot even thinking about wearing anything in bed gives me the rage. This weather is ok with me, I can finally cool down a bit 🤣👍

YABU. I love them. Nothing better than cosy feet in a cold bed or sitting watching TV on a winter evening.

wow, that sounds uncomfortable to me, the idea of trying to sleep with anything actually tight around my extremities 😖 I can imagine my circulation slowing down!

Things like this are really interesting, though — how differently we all experience the world.

I don't like bedsocks. They twist around and are uncomfy. Ordinary socks are better. Closer-fitting, so they don't twist around. But I always end up overheating in them and wake up in the middle of the night to get them off.

I have an electric heat pad from the middle of Lidl, which lives at the foot end of my bed. If I have cold feet I switch it on. Mmmmmm, lovely. It switches off automatically after an hour or so.

I can't stand any socks in bed. Tried all sorts. Feet are like ice right now but cannot stand socks. I feel claustrophobic in them. Strange I know

I hate wearing socks in bed. But when your feet are so ice cold you can't put them on the opposite leg without feeling a rotten chill, what other option is there?! I try to starfish with bed socks on. All the bloody annoyance gets me so narked I can't sleep. I’m like the princess and the pea

Mad as a snake tickled me. At least snakes don't have feet to worry about being cold at night

My grandma was a prolific knitter, she used to knit us kids warm fluffy bed socks with a length of ribbon to tie them on with. They were lovely and warm.
As an adult, I dislike wearing socks in bed.

I’m another one who hadn’t heard of bed socks!

I’ve always had an electric blanket. I move a lot when I sleep and wake up any time my feet touch something cold so the electric blanket makes sure the whole bed is nice and warm. That way I can wear a shirt and shorts that don’t get tangled when I move but also not keep waking myself up with icy sheets!

I'm wearing my heatholder 3.5tog fleecy socks right now and am super cozy. I can't sleep without warm socks in bed - except when the temperature is 30C or more and even then I might have thinner, soft bedsocks on. 🌹

If it’s really cold I’ll go to bed in them, but hot feet wake me up, so they get kicked out at some point.

I used to dislike wearing socks in bed till I got hypothyroidism, now too cold not to wear them! I have alpaca socks, they are snuggly warm. I summer I use regular cotton socks with a loose top.
