Is it really bad luck to do washing on New Years Day?

I want to clean my house tomorrow afternoon, but does anyone buy into the whole bad luck thing? I’m not going to have much other time to do it all week so that will feel like bad luck if I don’t get it done!

I don't do household chores (including washing) on NYD. Funnily enough it's not stopped bad things happening.

DH put a load on at 1.30am as we went to bed. I then put another load on at 9-ish, before I walked the dog. I've also just cleaned the kitchen. #livingdangerously

I didn’t do any washing or cleaning yesterday. Definitely not washing away a member of my family or bringing bad luck tk my house. I did however do the washing as soon as midnight hit today.

No washing for me. I did load the machine but didn't put it on. More as I couldn't be arsed but the superstition swayed it for me 😄

Will have 3 loads to do today, first lot is almost ready to hang.
