What do you do on New Year’s Day?

Just wondering what everyone else does. We never do anything for New Year’s Eve as we’re generally too tired to stay up late. When I was little my dad always used to drive us to the beach for a walk on New Year’s Day but the weather this year looks atrocious. We’ve also ended up in Ikea a few times on New Year’s Day as it’s generally very quiet and the dc see it as a great day out(!) Just looking for some inspiration of what to do this year, DH and I get very little time off between us, we’ve both been back at work this week. Maybe the cinema?

Throw out the sugar and alcohol. Urg.

Someone tell me this is the day to start plunging. My mates do it and I'm too soft.

Plunging?

A walk in the woods with the dog, come hail, rain or shine. We take a flask and sandwiches.

We go to Liverpool for a walk round have a shop if anything open and walk round the docks etc and get some lunch
It's normally quiet and nice fresh air (very fresh 😅)

A long walk with DDogs followed by a date with Netflix and a takeaway curry .

We'd often go for a walk. This year we've pondering around going racing, and now DD and her boyfriend with friends and asked us to join them. Not meant to be heavy going where we are, but I'm not sure I want to watch the horses running on slippy ground though, so have gone off that idea.
