... and so each day up until Christmas I will be bringing you a small scene from Playmoland. A kind of Playmobil advent calendar, with just a simple picture each day.

What's behind the door today?

Some snowmen which the children have made! Xmas Smile

What beautifully wrapped presents!

MoverOfPaper · 14/12/2023 09:38

Did we ever get a blue wine emoji?

SoMuchToBits · 14/12/2023 11:07

No, I think you can only have red wine. Wine

I had no idea it was St Lucy's day! So maybe Noel, Frieda, Jutta and Kurt had something to with it...

@TheCountessofFitzdotterel I couldn't possibly say! Xmas Wink

Proper festive Playmo magic!! 🎄🎄🎄

ArcaneWireless · 14/12/2023 11:45

Someone has been a very good girl or boy… 🎁

YuletideSolace · 14/12/2023 11:55

Someone has been very organised, and taken such care to make the presents pretty!

I shall be wrapping all the presents tomorrow. Thankfully not a huge pile, so it won't be too taxing.

HomeCountyHome · 14/12/2023 12:00

Gosh, how efficient you all are! I still have to buy things, let alone wrap them up!!

SoMuchToBits · 14/12/2023 12:05

The Playmo people are more efficient than I am! I haven't wrapped mine yet... Xmas Grin

Like the presents. Hope Norman is in good health.

Westfacing · 14/12/2023 12:37

What lovely wrapped presents - I'm useless at wrapping so use gift bags instead!

I'm with you there!

Norman is in great health thank you! Currently enjoying a Brew. No change there then. Xmas Grin

@mnhq Dear MNHQ, if we’ve been particularly good this year, do you think @SoMuchToBits could get a blue wine emoji for Christmas? Her threads have been so cheerful and positive and it would be nice to be able to toast them in the local Playmo tipple.

SoMuchToBits · 14/12/2023 15:52

That's very kind of you @MoverOfPaper but I'm sure only a tiny minority of MNers follow my Playmo threads, so it would be a bit lost on the majority of users!

Incidentally did you realise that it was Norm who campaigned for the Brew many years ago?

So where's the cup of tea emoticon then? | Mumsnet

I see we have a new wine glass emoticon! Jolly good! But some of us would prefer a good old cup of tea. Do you think you could cater for the likes...

When I was living in Germany the teenagers used to go around with lanterns, I think it was on St Lucy’s Day, singing a song that went something like, ‘Latterne, Latterne, Sonne, Mond und Sterne’ (lanterns, sun, moon and stars).

St. Martin's Day :) Early November. They often go back to the school/kindergarten and all the adults get squiffy on Gluhwein and the kids get bread which they are supposed to break in half and share to signify the sharing of St. Martin's cloak with the beggar.

SoMuchToBits · 14/12/2023 18:37

That sounds like a nice celebration @BertieBotts ! Xmas Smile

I was in Venice for Martinmas a few years ago. It was great - gangs of small cute kids running around bashing wooden spoons on saucepans and singing a special St Martin song, for which they received sweets.

I've never heard of St Lucy but we used to do it on St Martin's Tag back in Germany, on the 11th November

Lovely to see your comments as usual! Please, please keep them coming, it's great to see everyone's ideas and any comments keep the thread active, so more people can see it.

I've also had lots of "thanks" for my picture posts, (which I don't think everyone else will see). Very grateful for all of those, and do feel free to unlurk and post a comment! The Playmo people and I love to see your thoughts (even if you don't like what we post, any feedback would be appreciated).

I'll be back in the morning with another picture behind the door!

I had no idea Norman got us the tea emoticon! Tgat was before my MN time. Respect for Norman though. You really need to have a solid understanding of what’s important in society if you want to lead. Tea and life saving.

SoMuchToBits · 14/12/2023 22:32

Thank you @MoverOfPaper yes Norman is a good chap really, and quite persistent when necessary! I had a bit of a nostalgic moment looking back at that though. Ds was then 10 years old. He's now 23!
