August this year, but I have a comically large family so I start buying in like May so I'm not overwhelmed towards the end of the year. I've already got two boxes of wrapped stuff in the garage and haven't even started any of my husband or daughter's. Good thing I love Christmas.

I’m thinking about starting to wrap mine but worried the sellotape won’t hold 😳

Crunchymum · 07/11/2023 11:30

When I start buying them (which is after DC1's mid November birthday)

uncomfortablydumb53 · 07/11/2023 11:36

I'm wrapping DS2 birthday presents for tomorrow and then I hope to carry on whilst I can still find the sellotape!
Just a pair of trainers to buy then I'm done

Christmas Eve

NoItsStillNighttimeDarling · 07/11/2023 11:42

I've been wrapping as I buy this year and I am finding it so much less stressful!

MonaChopsis · 07/11/2023 11:54

I wrap them as they arrive, using different colour paper for different people (Santa sacks, so no tags!) Makes Christmas Eve a doddle, and means if anyone stumbles across a hiding space the surprise isn't spoiled.

Bonus: presents I've bought and wrapped early sometimes become surprises to me too!

Usually first week in December. I forget what I've bought otherwise. or one Yr lost the list I had written so I could wrap early

Squaffle · 07/11/2023 11:56

I am also wrapping as I buy this year (have only bought a handful so far). I used to save them all up and wrap them in front of a Christmas movie but I found that exhausting last year. So far, wrapping as I go has made me feel very smug so I will continue!

Dontcallmescarface · 07/11/2023 11:57

I wrap them the same day I get them, always have done.

RuthW · 07/11/2023 12:13

October if I have time, realistically November. I'm half way through. I

DramaAlpaca · 07/11/2023 19:08

Usually Christmas Eve.

DappledThings · 07/11/2023 19:32

Whenever they are ready. DH has bought one present for DS already so that's wrapped. It'll go under the tree with in a few weeks when that goes up. Others will join it as and when they are bought/arrive in the post from family.

UdderlyPumpkin · 07/11/2023 19:34

I want to start now. It gets too boring and too overwhelming if I leave it

Kitkat1523 · 07/11/2023 19:43

I did most of mine last night! But I’m going overseas for 6 plus weeks mid December…. So need to be organised as will be handing out from beggining of December

SweetBirdsong · 07/11/2023 19:47

I wrap mine around the first or second week in December. I bought half my Christmas presents today during a big shopping spree in a big shopping centre. I'm so chuffed! Grin

Rainsdropskeepfalling · 07/11/2023 19:50

Xmas eve here. But we don't really do a lot of presents by MN standards (1-2 presents for each kid, maybe something for DH) so it only takes 10-15 mins.

TeenDivided · 07/11/2023 19:50

Usually once I have bought 90%.
Last few years I have done those for my parents early so they can be sent or hand delivered in good time.
When DC were younger we operated a present buying service for relatives, so we needed to work out which wrapping paper each relative was using.

TeenDivided · 07/11/2023 19:51

I also save time and paper by using Amazon bags within this household that others have sent us in the past.

DreamingInPhosphorescence · 07/11/2023 19:59

Christmas Eve. Because I’m spectacularly disorganised I’ve probably still been shopping earlier in the day!

LittleMousewithcloggson · 07/11/2023 20:01

start beginning of November and then as I get them
i use the gift list app where you put ideas down then change it to purchased, arrived, wrapped
Split into recipients so I don’t forget what I have got for everyone and can see what I’ve done

CMOTDibbler · 07/11/2023 20:04

About 7pm on Christmas eve. But I only have ds and dh to wrap presents for so it doesn't take long

Allschoolsareartschools · 07/11/2023 20:05

For years I've been saying I'll wrap things as soon as I've bought them.
I never do it & end up in a mad rush or having to quickly wrap something before I meet the recipient.
But this year I have actually started my wrapping! I bought a few gifts & they're all wrapped & ready with very little stress...so far.
