Has anyone had a new boiler fitted recently?

I’ve just had a quote in and it’s massive. We’ve got a small 2 bed bungalow! Before I share the price as it may well be reasonable, if you’ve had a boiler installed recently, how much did you pay if you’re willing to share? Thanks.

Obviously with boilers as with everything you can get cheaper ones, middle range and then high specification ones so that will factor in to the cost, plus taking away all the old stuff as well, so make sure you know what is included in the quote.

Just under 2k for just a new boiler with nothing changed, 3 bed house. We replaced the controller ourselves, a couple of years ago.

Try BOXT for a quote.

Not recently, but following recommendations on Mumsnet I used BOXT 2 years' ago - it was around £2,300 for a Worcester Bosch Combi, including the fancy Google Nest thermostat. Two bedroom ground floor flat, London.

All good, no problems.

Some of these prices are crazy! We had ours replaced last weekend (at very short notice) for £2,100 incl. 35kw Glowworm boiler (three storey house, ten radiators, two showers), labour and VAT - they would have thrown in free Hive system too, but we already had it.

We didn't shop around to find a good price either - went with the first locally-reccommended company that could fit one quickly when ours broke.

We're northwest Midlands.

Just under £4k all in. New Worcester Bosch boiler, cleaning the whole system, draining radiators etc, putting thermostats on 7 radiators.
This was parts and labour, 4 bed house in London. 1.5 days work, 1 day with 2 blokes.

Got one about a year ago. Worcester Bosch, fitted by British Gas. Approx £2,600. Straight swap for old combi, inc Hive.

potatoheads · 20/10/2023 14:08

Yep. 2 boilers. £10.5k

Guiltypleasures001 · 20/10/2023 14:11

We're with British Gas homeserve
We got ours in for £2.225 with hive and something else I can't remember fitted
We opted for a slightly more expensive boiler Worcester I think but only a hundred quid or so
British Gas had a discount thingy special on
So we went for it

Guiltypleasures001 · 20/10/2023 14:11

Sorry we're a 3 bed semi

If you look at Screwfix the cheapest combi boiler is c. £600 and most expensive c. £3,300 so worth checking what boiler.

Combi oil boilers (which the OP is getting) are significantly more expensive

£2400 for combi Vaillant boiler
£1000 fitting - it took 1 days work.
Extra for Hive but this is well worth it for convenience.
We live in a 4 bed, 2 storey house.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 20/10/2023 16:00

Most of these are gas boilers. Op is getting oil.
Oil boilers are more expensive to buy & fit than gas.

3 bed house and paid 2.5k for a worcester with Nest. We went through BOXT as they were the cheapest and offered interest free. They were the best tradesmen we had ever had and fitter it next day. British Gas quoted 7k for the exact same boiler 😂😂😂
