What are these tweezers for?

Looking through a late family member's things and came across these tweezers. Never seen tweezers like them before and am wondering what the purposes are of the holes in the tip and the grooves. They are 11.5cm long and the tip is 1cm long. Any ideas?

What are these tweezers for?

Blackheads

I recall blackhead removers from my youth, but they didn't involve tweezers.

We had ones just like this at home when I was a kid (both parents medics) but they had a hole on one side and a small pin that fit into the hole on the other, which I think was to keep them aligned and stop them sort of slipping when you were pulling a massive splinter out (of your big toe because you had been sliding along the deck in socks again). I haven’t seen a set with two holes.

Maybe you thread thread through the holes, poke the pointy bits into fabric/ leather, loop the thread and pull back
