I am going abroad on holiday and big hotels take a payment for any damages occured. I do not have a debit card as I lost it. I do not have a credit card. I only have cash. A friend of mine said the hotel need a card payment. They will not take cash. The travel agent said they will probably take a cash payment if I do not have a caard. Does anyone know. The agent said just because my friend said they will not accept cash literally means they will waive the fee and not take any payment/ The travel agent have emailed the hotel to ask

"As for a virtual credit card on the phone, my friend said it is dangerous and she would never do it because if you lose your phone someone can take your phone and copy the ap and take all your money and then just dump the phone so I said to her would you ever get a virtual card and she said never"

Oh dear! 😂 where did your friend get this priceless bit of knowledge? Good luck with your trip. You both sound as bad as each other

What do you think would happen if you lost adebit card @Flute56 ? That nobody unscrupulous would find it and use it?

I wonder what world people live in sometimes.

*You won't be the first person to have lost their card at a large hotel.

what makes you think i lost my card at a large hotel. Have I ever said that? NO*

You really are pretty rude OP. I was trying to be helpful.

Just to be clear I meant that you have experienced the loss of your card.
You are going to a large hotel.
You won't be the first person at this large hotel to have had a card loss.
So they will probably have an emergency procedure that they can use.

I'm glad it is sorted but honestly you catch more flies with honey than vinegar!

Also a virtual card is safer than a physical one.

Many countries just allow you to sign for credit card purchases or you can use your credit card over the phone.
My virtual card requires a facial scan before authorization so even if my phone was stolen and the pin was hacked somehow the card still wouldn't be accessible to them.

I always wonder where the tabloids find these ridiculous people. Now I know.
