What is this hellhole virus

I'm assuming it's a virus ! Covid test neg

Week 1 headache and nausea
Week 2 fatigue, sore throat and dry wretching
Week 3 still tired, going hot and cold.
Wtf!

Yep, I have all those symptoms. I'm going into my 3rd week with it. Started with sore throat and then a horrible chesty cough which I just can't seem to shake. I sound like a 20 a day smoker.

It's awful. I feel 90 years old.

No. I just thought it was a virus and nothing could be done

It could be bacterial I think they can tend to linger sometimes. The gp would be able to tell with a blood test

We’ve all had that, it’s doing the rounds, takes about 3 weeks….

the worst bit was the extreme fatigue

I spent 3 days just lying on the bed

On my 3rd week of razor throat, ear ache, super congested throat, lost my voice completely for a couple of days and still hoarse as fuck, hacking cough.

It’s certainly hellish

love the idea of a GP actually seeing someone for a bit of a cough and a virus, and then taking a blood test

Same! It's driving me nuts, I'm on week 4 now - really hot, sore throat and congested still.

Has it all been coming and going for you all eg away for a week or two then coming back ? Or just straight fever for weeks ?

Oh my gosh I've had this for 4 weeks. The nausea lasted 10 days and thankfully has gone now but the fatigue and immense sore throat is still clinging on. I'm also testing negative for covid

I had this, it was grim and totally floored me. I’m assuming it was Covid (LFTs negative, but I definitely had Covid in 2021 / positive PCR but never once tested positive on an LFT)

I felt exactly as you did a couple of weeks ago after being in contact with a friend who caught covid traveling home from abroad. I felt like I had covid but with added nausea. However I was testing -ve with the GP Getein brand tests from the pharmacy and I figured I maybe had another virus.
A couple of days later I was over the worst and was going to visit an elderly relative who's in a care home and I thought I'd just test again to be doubly sure. This time I used an NHS test and it was immediately +ve. So I'd suggest maybe testing with another brand of test.

On Wednesday I had to leave work fast as I had a sudden headache (I never get headaches) and thought I was going to be sick. Yesterday nausea. Today definitely feeling viral with sore neck glands and general body ache.

Everyone in this household on week one of headache and nausea, dd2 has started on the sore throat but she started on the Sunday, all the rest of us have gone down with it every couple of days...
