Autumn Decorations

My favourite season is autumn.
Not so much Halloween as the kids are older but autumn itself.

I have seen actual autumn house decorations rather than Halloween ones in the shops and was wondering if this is something that you do?

I have my eye on a lovely door wreath.

You can get wreath hangers that go over the door. Usually in shops at Christmas but I'm sure Amazon will have them now.

We have a seasonal tree and in autumn it has a woodland theme so felt woodland animals, toadstools etc.

@Myotis We use an upside down command hook on the inside of the door towards the top. Then you hang the wreath with ribbon, take the ribbon over the top of the door and hook it over the command hook.

If I’ve not described well enough then let me know and I’ll try and send a pic. It’s a brilliant way of doing it - I’ve converted loads of people to my wreath hanging ways 😂

That is a brilliant solution, I'm going to try that.

We decorate for Autumn as the colours are really cosy for the time when the rainy weather & darker nights set in, but don't tend to put stuff up until the end of Sept.

I'd take the upside down command hook thing a step further and use fishing wire instead of ribbon, so it's invisible.

I've decorated for autumn the last few years but my children are pretty grown up now so I'm looking for ideas to make it more subtle and adult rather than the more child orientated way I've been doing it.

Candles and throws of course but is there anything else people use?

I do an autumn fireplace- I have an autumn wreath I made myself above, then a leaf garland with these mini pumpkin candles dotted around (we’ll burn them on Halloween) Mini Pumpkin candles . They’re pumpkin spice fragrance and scent the room even when they’re not lit.

@Tumbleweed101 a garland for your fireplace? I've got a glass mushroom, a fake pumpkin with flowers in it, then a few real tiny pumpkins.
