Has anyone tried those natural deodorants (Wild, Fussy etc)

If so, how do you rate them?

I used to love Aromacreme from Lush many years ago, and never found anything like it until recently. I tried a couple from the Natural Deodorant Co but was a little bit smelly by the end of the day. I've just received some samples from Wild, and they smell amazing but can't vouch for the effectiveness yet. Interested to hear others' experiences and if there are any that come particularly recommended?

The first tube of Wild worked amazingly well, but then every other one I tried I smelled horrendous by 3pm and funnily enough, both of my DD's said exactly the same. The only natural deodorant that has ever really worked for me is Trust anti-odorant. You rub a tiny bit in at night, then use a small squirt of normal deodorant like Sure in the morning. Completely dry and odourless.

Wild irritated my skin to the point it was sore and inflamed. Tried the sensitive but that was then ineffective as a deodorant.
Fussy worked well and didn't irritate my skin but it left big greasy patches on my clothes.
I've gone back to my Lidl deodorant!

I made a DIY deodorant from bicarbonate of soda, cornflour, coconut oil and essential oil. Totally natural and very effective.

Same as pp, I like wild but some scents don’t work as well. The fruity ones left me a bit smelly at the end of the day but like the ocean limited edition and sea salt. Vanilla and coconut is ok too.

TightPants · 01/08/2023 19:46

I swapped from Wild (as it was too messy and expensive) to AKT deodorant balm.
Its around £20 for a tube but lasts ages, stops the pong and is easy to apply.

I've been using Awake Organics Star Cloud deodorant for at least two years now. It has saved my life as it works perfectly and I had become allergic to all regular deodorants. It's expensive but one pot lasts a LONG time.

I use Salt of the Earth, which I get from Amazon. Link below. I rate it.

I am a fussy convert lasts all day and no marks on clothes so far

DaisyWaldron · 01/08/2023 20:01

I use Akt which is extremely effective and smells wonderful but is hideously expensive.

Bosabosa · 01/08/2023 20:03

Earth conscious- but only the.mint and spearmint strong protection, the other types don't work for me.

I like Wild but not yet tested in very hot.weather

tortiecat · 01/08/2023 20:04

What @DaisyWaldron said. £17 a tube on subscription, but it works really well. I use MooGoo on days where I'm just pottering about at home as a cheaper if less effective option (I don't think I smell, but wouldn't use it for days out)

ThomasHardyPerennial · 01/08/2023 20:10

I've been using Nuud for almost a year. It took a while to get used to it, but I don't smell at all now. Wish I didn't sweat so much still, but at least I don't need to worry about smelling bad!

EATmum · 01/08/2023 20:15

I bought a stick of Pitrok over a year ago and I don't think it's gone down much at all. In heatwaves and marathon training it's not let me down and I've been really impressed. I think it cost about £8 so definitely a bargain given the way it's lasting.

reducemug · 01/08/2023 20:17

Wild made me smell. Not a pleasant smell. Im back to using dove.

astridforty · 01/08/2023 20:22

Another long term Fussy user. I do have the odd day around my period when I think it’s just not quite up to the job but 99% of the time it’s great.

It does mark clothes though - especially anything silky or dark. I find myself having to put stuff on a hotter or longer wash to remove them, which I guess isn’t really in keeping with the greener lifestyle.

PaniniHead · 01/08/2023 20:25

Isn’t Wild peddled by the majority of small time instagrammers? A few friends and work colleagues tried it but didn’t rate it

WhosBob · 01/08/2023 20:33

I've tried them all but the best deodorant I've come across is the Malin + Goetz Eucalyptus deodorant. It's really popular and definitely works. Give it a try

SunnySomer · 01/08/2023 20:38

I’m another one who can use deodorant in the winter but not summer. I used wild last winter and it was fine - but back to normal roll on antiperspirant from about May - whenever that hot spell was. Agree about the annoying white marks on clothes.

marmite2023 · 01/08/2023 20:39

Fussy is amazing! Really good - I do a lot of sport, and was recommended by my cross fit mate. Works really well.

QuestionableMouse · 01/08/2023 20:42

Wild made me smell so bad I had to go home on my break and shower.

Their adverts about "chemicals" also piss me off!

JanesBlond · 01/08/2023 20:46

I use salt of the earth roll on. I didn’t like how the unscented one smelt on me (not BO but slightly strange) but I really like the lavender & vanilla one.

TinyRebel · 01/08/2023 20:51

I’ve tried KuTis and Pit Putty sticks, but they make my pits very sore and red. It’sa shame because they come in 100% cardboard packaging.
Recently discovered The Natural Deodorant Company, which is a cream that comes in a glass jar. So far so good.

ShazzaF · 01/08/2023 20:58

I have just recently placed my first order with Fussy, I got the sensitive formula and it works great.

I did already use a deodorant with very similar ingredients from the Natural Deodorant Company (the unscented one) so I suppose I was already used to using natural deodorant rather than antiperspirants.

ShazzaF · 01/08/2023 21:01

Oh I will add that my husband uses a brand called Fit Pit which works for him really well.

I tried it and it did definitely do really well for stopping any smell, but unfortunately the baking soda is too much for my skin and it made my armpits sore. But if you get on with baking soda formulas then that's a good option.

Sonolanona · 01/08/2023 21:12

Wild smelled ok but nothing amazing and I didn't like sweating. I want my deodorant to be an actual antiperspirant, so went back to dove/mitchum. I don't want to sweat even if it is more natural!
