Possibly a rich tea. Or maybe a fruit shortcake.

Mcvities Digestive Biscuits are absolutely disgusting.

They used to be absolutely delicious and I have eaten them since a young child. Unfortunately the taste is foul and I was so compelled to write to them. (About 10 years ago they changed the recipe and had/have palm oil as an ingredient amongst other things.
Awful and such a shame. My Mother and all her and my friends feel the same.
For those of you that haven't tasted them before, you are being robbed. They taste nothing like they should.
Absolutely ruined.

This ^

I used to love them, particularly with cheese, but haven't eaten them since they changed the ingredients as they now taste revolting.

My favourite biscuits used to be walnut ones but haven't had these for ages.

I've never been a fan of hobnobs but DH recently introduced me to the chocolate/coconut ones which are lovely. Otherwise I'm not really much of a biscuit eater these days.

M&S chocolate covered selection box, my words for it no idea what it's called

I really dislike chocolate bourbons and custard creams 😂

Ooh, I love bourbons! Grin

CrazilySensitive · 29/06/2023 05:02

I am a biscuit person generally! 🤭 To me, nothing, especially in winter, beats a cup of tea and a biscuit to dunk. Oh the comfort.
I actually can't wait for chilly autumn, when I'll have more of an excuse!

AxolotlOnions · 29/06/2023 06:35

I'd say all biscuits are better than the 3 you listed!

Iamnotworthy · 29/06/2023 07:40

Custard cream
Malted milk
Chocolate malted milk (king of biscuits)

Every biscuit is better than a digestive tbh

GlassWall · 29/06/2023 07:41

Dove Farm wholemeal digestives are my favourite biscuit. Second place to Lemon Puffs.

keel34 · 29/06/2023 07:41

You've listed all the shit ones!

Greengreented · 29/06/2023 07:42

CrazilySensitive · 29/06/2023 04:59

Ooh, I love bourbons! Grin

You can have all my share of the bourbons then 😀

MargotBamborough · 29/06/2023 07:44

Most biscuits are better than a digestive!

Jammy dodger for me.

Northernsouloldies · 29/06/2023 01:11

Yip the borders dark chocolate ginger nothing comes close.. My favourite and bonus is I'm the only one in house that likes them. 😋.

Have you tried the new bars? Nearly as good so actually amazing @Northernsouloldies .

Borders are the King of biscuit makers.

Caradonna · 29/06/2023 07:51

Rich tea for me
but I normally eat them, rich tea or digestive, with a square of Lindt 70% choc.

musixa · 29/06/2023 07:53

Those small, cheap digestives are a better size than McVities for dunking.

christmastreefarm · 29/06/2023 07:55

Those plain LU biscuits.

AgnesX · 29/06/2023 07:58

I much prefer all the boring biscuits ie not chocolate now I'm grown up (😁) coconut rings, malty biscuits, custard cream, gingernuts, digestive.....anything you can dunk!

CosmosQueen · 29/06/2023 07:59

Biscoff chocolate sandwich biscuits, Borders lemon drizzle or their chocolate gingers are yummy!

HRTQueen · 29/06/2023 08:07

I like them occasionally with cheese

lidl do a digestive that’s more salty in the Christmas cheese biscuit box they are really good

I prefer a rich tea and best is M&S Scottish all butter shortbread and lidl chocolate chip shortbread

inappropriateraspberry · 29/06/2023 08:10

Squashed fly biscuits or a fig roll!

LookItsMeAgain · 29/06/2023 08:15

I've found one.

They are East Coast Bakehouse Enrobed Ginger Crunch biscuits.

They are really to die for. Far superior to the basic humble digestive.

WildFlowerBees · 29/06/2023 08:24

M&S digestives, much nicer. Or a malted milk.

Vettrianofan · 29/06/2023 08:25

Abernethy wins hands down. You are wrong OP😂

Nussbaum · 29/06/2023 08:32

No biscuits come close to a Farley's rusk dunked in a mug of tea 😋

inappropriateraspberry · 29/06/2023 08:49

Ooh, forgot about Cornish Fairings!

ApplesinmyPocket · 29/06/2023 08:52

A plain McVities digestive would be my choice, too!

Honourable mentions:

Malted milk
Lincoln biscuits (impossible to get in the UK now :(
Abernethys
A rich tea finger (for dunking)

You can keep your fancy biscuits! oh and I actively DISLIKE Hobnobs of any kind, not sure why, although most people seem to love them!

MargotDeWitt · 29/06/2023 08:54

Fox's Jam and Cream sandwiches.
