hiya, I’ve just made a claim to CICA and sent off my acceptance letter was just wondering how long people have waited for the payout? It says within 20 days but wondering if anyone got it sooner

Also i wouldn’t be surprised if they request more evidence and more medical files as the longer the claim goes on they will request up to date medical information 🥺

Sorry I’ve not posted on here before and not sure if I’m replying to the right part of this thread, however, I was wondering if anyone could help with the below.

I claimed for CICA a year after the situation as I wasn’t ready to go through any details so in Sept’24 I submitted my claim however I moved house and was unable to retrieve any of my mail and was unable to get through to cica via phone and each time I emailed they said to call due to security reasons. I managed to get through to them today after many months of trying and they informed me that they sent out a decision letter in October’24 so only 4-8 weeks after I submitted the claim and it has now nearly been a year since they sent it out. I have asked them to resend it as I was unable to retrieve any of my post from the previous property and have failed to make any contact with cica. I was wondering if because it was sent so soon after the claim if that means I was denied or if not will I still be able to accept the offer as it’s been quite a while since they sent it.

Thats a really long wait,
I put in a complaint and this hurried things up as like you said I'd been left in a pile! So now it's looking like im going to have to wait for an independent report for my psychological injury. Which was my second injury therefore, I've got to assume the first part was done? I dont know but I heard that i am in the queue for the decision maker again which means im either getting rewarded or getting the independent report. Im hoping this is the final stage tho as it's really stressful like you said. Im glad that's it over for you now though.
