hiya, I’ve just made a claim to CICA and sent off my acceptance letter was just wondering how long people have waited for the payout? It says within 20 days but wondering if anyone got it sooner

I made an application in March, had an acknowledgment but heard nothing else since. I was advised it could take up to a year or more

I send off my application on the 6th of June, got an award letter on the 13th of June and sent my acceptance off Monday just gone, my process has gone pretty fast just want to find out number of days from accepting it takes

I know this is an old thread, but I was just wondering how long it took for you to receive payment from sending off your acceptance letter? I am sending mine off today, would be amazing if it was here in time for Christmas 🥰

I got it the week after I sent it off about 10days including weekend x

Mine went into my bank around 13 days after I posted my acceptance letter x

Hi can I ask how long it took for u to hear back I sent form off in February not heard anything yet just needed counselling details.

It depends on the complexity of each case mine has been going on since 2017 , they told me I was not eligible for compensation and at the time I wasnt in the right frame to fight. , my mental health worsened and I was diagnosed with ptsd so then I decided to asked them to reopen my claim , i was told yes they would open my claim and went through tribunal and won , my claim then went back to cica to be assessed but they left my claim in a pile and forgot about it and didn’t process it further for over a year it was left , so I raised complaints with the cica and they found there was failure in the management of my claim and it would be assessed asap . fast forward to 2024 they couldn’t acsess any of my files on the computer and I started to worry they had lost everything so I raised another complaint. I have now recieved an interim award of 10’000 pound while they are still assessing my claim as it’s complex and has loss of earnings involved , I’ve been told it could a while. 🤦🏻‍♀️. I just want it done now as it’s so traumatic keep going over stuff and it’s been a very long few years x

Hi, Can anyone from the above let me know if these payments were made in the night, as a BACS? Or if there payment was made at some point the day ?

Im waiting for a payment this week and don’t know if there is any need to keep checking my account throughout the day? The account it’s going into doesn’t have online banking so it’s a bit of pain.

I sent my acceptance off 14th this month and it was processed the same day as it’s quicker sending over email. Hoping it ain’t much longer but mentioned it can go in overnight could it click through during the day too?x

Did you get your payment if so how long did it take in the end? as I have been waiting nearly 2 months after sending my acceptance letter back they asked for my bank statement with address 3 weeks ago but no payment I am waiting frustrated.

No I’ve still not received mine. I chased after waiting the nearly 20 working days to find out they needed a bank statement just to verify my account. Gutted so waiting again only on day 8

Did you use a solicitors? Or did you do the process yourself? My solicitors rang in wednesday and let me know that they have sent my acceptance over to cica via email and they would recieve the payment then transfer to me after there fees. Do you think they will still need a bank statement from me as it’s going through them?

Hi may I ask why did they need verify your claim with bank statements was the payment being sent to your account and how long did it eventually take to receive the money? I sent my acceptance letter and they have added it to my claim on Monday just want to know when I will expect the payment cheers

I submitted a claim to CICA September 2023 by November 2024 they have all the evidence including my full medical records and finally in april 2024 we got a guilty plea from the person who did it.

That's now a year and 9 months ive been waiting, does anyone have any idea if I will hear soon?

Its so hard not being able to get updates from them and having no idea when this might come

Hey lovely , it all depends on the complexity of the claim and if you have ongoing medical problems. I started my claim in 2017 and was finally offered a hefty award last week so i am now just waiting for payment. I did receive an interim award of 10,000 last year . There were lots of mishaps on there part with my claim where it had been just left in a plile to be assessed. My advice would be to call them once every few months make sure its not forgotten about . They don’t update you or notify you, the only time you will hear from them will be if they request information or when they offer you your payment. I found the whole process traumatic. I am just glad its done now and i am just waiting for the money to clear in my account now.
