Show me your emerald rings please!

I would like to buy an emerald ring in tribute to a lost loved one. They left me a bit of money and we had an inside joke about emerald rings. It just feels like the right thing to spend it on.
Ideally I would like to buy preloved or vintage. I’m just so stuck on style! Would appreciate anyone showing me ones they have to give me inspiration on style!

Budget of around £1000.

@caringcarer Blue eyes? Why does that stop you wearing emeralds? Am I missing something?

@StiggyZardust Your mum's rings are gorgeous (especially 2nd from left), why don't you wear them?

Those are all so lovely. I love emeralds but have blue eyes so have not got one.
Eh? Should I not wear my ruby ring because I haven't got red eyes? Wear them and enjoy them!

@caringcarer I’ve also got blue eyes 🤔😅 am I missing something? Are emeralds a no-go for us blue eyed lot? 🤣

@nebulae I don't ever seem to have the opportunity to wear the rings. I can't wear jewellery at work. When I go out I tend to wear silver. I need to make an effort to wear them. She left me a lot of jewellery.

My sister has lovely really deep green emerald eyes and emerald jewelry always look so good on her. I borrowed an emerald ring from her but I thought it looked not so good on me because my eyes are blue. I now tend to stick to sapphires and of course diamonds.

It's an art déco ring, bought in the 40s. It's like a little crown. There are 13 or 14 pavé set diamonds in the form of an 'M' and in between is a trapeze-shaped emerald - like the keystone in an arch.

Emeralds are very fragile - I lost it, and had to pay for a much bigger one to bé cut down to fill the frame.

@StiggyZardust if they're not your cup of tea I'd happily wear them on your behalf 😜

@caringcarer that's a bit daft, I can't imagine anyone would think you shouldn't wear emeralds unless you have green eyes. My eyes are brown, should I be limited to brown gemstones?

@Freshlycutgrasss it was a present from my late mum so I'm not sure, but knowing her it was probably from one of the shopping channels, maybe QVC. They're lovely stones. She had good taste.

I think its more about your overall colouring rather than your blue eyes...

I have a half eternity ring of emeralds and diamonds also vintage and it's very easy to wear. I have brown eyes and own rings with sapphires, also rubies.

I have very pale colouring and blue eyes like my Dad had but my sister has more olive skin and green eyes like my Mum had. They really suit her.

@DdJames that's lovely too! The lady I worked for had an engagement ring the same shape, but it was a pale sapphire in the middle, with a ruby either side.. very unique, just like her!

I don't have one to share either, but just wanted to add that I think this is a wonderful way to remember your friend. I am sure she would find it perfectly fitting that you've chosen to spend her bequest on one!

I'd recommend going to look at some local second hand jewellers. Strangely I find the easiest way to find one is visit a town that is considered posh and expensive! They always seem to have good second hand jewellers!
