Remembering BitOfFun

The awesome BitOfFun died two years ago.
She loved this board and I just wanted her name on here at this time.
She was a friend of mine on here and in real life. When she passed there was a weird competition about who knew her best. Don’t even start with that shit. Just let’s remember an awesome human being.

I remember BitofFun, I'm sure she was on a Manchester MN Xmas Do one year, the one where we bumped into Tyrone from Corrie. Good Times, lovely lady 💕

Willmafrockfit · 12/05/2023 07:57

I am also sorry for your loss @RememberBee
a lovely lady, taken too soon

EggInANest · 12/05/2023 08:02

I am a long time member, now a serial name changer after someone stalked me.

I do remember BOF. Rest well, fly high, Ms Fun, and love ongoing to you and her friends and family, OP.

I remember BitOfFun - she was a mumsnet great Flowers

ZenNudist · 12/05/2023 08:13

Can't believe it was 2 years ago. She stood out for me after she posted a cartoon story about her eating a whole birthday cake and throwing up as a child. Such a shame she died so young, for her children especially.

RJnomore1 · 12/05/2023 08:13

I can’t believe it’s been two years.

I can’t believe it’s two years either.

She always seemed like just one of life’s good ones.

The pouffe of thread was hysterical.

Does anyone know how her family are doing?

Pagwatch · 12/05/2023 16:04

Pagwatch · 12/05/2023 16:05

Peridot1 · 12/05/2023 17:21

Nice to see lots of old names on the thread too.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 12/05/2023 17:34

Truly honoured to have known her and called her a friend.

AmazingBouncingFerret · 12/05/2023 17:35

And the wedding? Fucking superb cake of cheese.

LeafHunter · 12/05/2023 17:38

Wow, two years.
I was also a real life friend with her, albeit specifically for about three years and we didn’t see each other more regularly in the last ten years. A truly wonderful woman, very generous and thoughful. I think of her often.

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 12/05/2023 17:45

Whenever I'm down my allotment I think of her. I definitely need a gin she'd like she had!

SchoolTripDrama · 12/05/2023 17:50

Whilst I don't remember her as I'd have been very new then still, I still wanted to post to pay my respects as the funny & down to earth types on here are what have endeared me to Mumsnet and kept me coming back.

RIP BitofFun

Ps, anyone have any links to any of her funny threads? I'd love to see if it's not too painful to share? 🙏

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 12/05/2023 17:51

BoF was the best. She pops up in my head regularly and always makes me smile.

Seashantii · 12/05/2023 17:55

I remember her, she was brilliant and funny. Can’t believe it’s been 2 years 😢

SchoolTripDrama · 12/05/2023 17:57

I don't mean to take the spotlight off BitofFun or anything but I just wanted to say that I do also regularly think about GoJetterBoy's son as well. He also springs into my thoughts whenever I see anything related to Go Jetters. ✝️

The hardest thing about BoF is that when you talk about her it sounds like hyperbole but it isn’t.

She (and some other lovely people on this thread) was so helpful when my sister died and I really struggled because we’d had such a difficult relationship. At my sisters funeral they talked about how kind and thoughtful she was, always happy and smiling. But she wasn’t - she was terrifying, fierce, argumentative and difficult. That was what was true about her but they said a load of rubbish about her.

BoF is the opposite thing where you want to keep listing the amazing things about her but because we usually reach for kind untruths it feels like too little somehow.
