What’s Happening In Your House?

Starting another of these threads cos I love ‘em & find them oddly comforting. Hope you’re all having a good Bank Holiday so far. I’ve had a couple of run ins with DD14 & have had to walk away. Kind of knew it would be like this as she got home from a weekend with her girlfriend & is extremely resentful that we didn’t let her stay another day. She’s been picking fights & keeps asking me to buy her stuff then kicking off when I tell her some of it needs to come out of her pocket money. Honestly it’s almost daily! She must think we have a bottomless pit of money!
The sun is shining so DH & I are going for a picnic & to see some bluebells. The fridge/freezer has packed up but I only put the mini sausages, pork pies etc in last night so they will be fine. We will have a cool box that isn’t cool! Luckily an engineer is coming tomorrow & we have cover through D & G so won’t need to pay. Unfortunately we’ll have to chuck a fair amount of the freezer contents. The milk was like cottage cheese earlier so no cuppa!
Think we’ll have pasta & pesto for tea. My friend lent me the DVD of the first Fisherman’s Friends film so we might watch that tonight.

My house is quite chilled today . All I have done is pop to the shop to get washing detergent. And sweets for the kids . Dd is in her room . Youngest is on my old phone playing games. 2nd youngest is playing with toys and having odd conversations with me .
Teen ds has been staying at adult dds place they are coming over here later with grandson so kids can play . Probably take them to the park later

We've just got back from the park and local shop because we needed milk. Now the kids are having a bit of time on their iPads while I'm cooking a roast chicken dinner. Then we will play in the garden for an hour or so before bath time and chill.
Austin kids so keeping them busy is key 🤣

Right now, I’m curled up under a blanket on the sofa with the two dogs, feeling rather sorry for myself with pretty awful period pain.. yay for pcos. I feel like I’m missing out on a beautiful day but there. My 18 month old is napping, and when he wakes up, I’ll be taking him to see his Da in the tractor for the afternoon.

Woke at 8am when the binmen arrived. Got a coffee, and stayed in bed reading until 10am 😊

Did a bit of hand washing, the washing up, and had breakfast at 11am.

DD bummed about a bit, is now doing an essay and will pack for trip back to uni tomorrow.

DH did some gardening and has now gone for a nap.

Very chill day.

DH is there WFH today (so he can take tomorrow off to look after DCs whose school is closed due to strikes)

Saturday and Sunday were pretty full on with family visits and I have a really busy day at work tomorrow. So I’m giving myself the day off today. No house work and no cooking. Currently in my comfy clothes watching netflix on the sofa and don’t intend to move.

I live alone and have just had lunch. I'm watching Steph's Packed Lunch. Cat is out in the garden. I have lots of chores to do but can't be bothered. Soon I will walk over to my DS's house with a parcel he had delivered to me as he is at work most of the time. I might do a few chores when I get back. Love living alone and can do what I want.

Doing work for school tomorrow (teacher) DH is at work. DCs are playing on their gadgets. Cajoling dd to do a practise sats paper. Taking dd her netball match later. It's cloudy, not much warmth about, bit disappointing. Ddog needs a walk at some point.

Note to self - shouldnt have left school work to the last day

Sat on sofa, stuffing biscuits in my mouth, reading Mumsnet ... I've washed some towels, I've been to Asda for a few bits. DS is sat on the sofa next to me watching The Simpsons. DH is tinkering in his shed.

I've got a sore throat so I am resting in bed. This week is too busy for me to be sick!

DDs are making some kind of jewellery set together. DS1 is playing by himself (some kind of obstacle course in the sitting room). DS2 is napping.

DH is working (not a holiday in the US, I'll be on calls tonight as well as long as I can speak).

I woke up with a terrible bad back so I've been lazy, it's a lot better now and I'm making lunch (soup, Derbyshire oatcakes, salad) and this afternoon we're going to the allotment. It's lovely weather here.

DH was running errands this morning, while I took DD to see the lambs and calves in a nearby field. She wasn't impressed, though, so we came back and played in the garden for a while before lunch. She's now fast asleep on me, and I'm watching Workin' Moms. DH will take her to the playground later while I ignore the housework and have a bath...

Dh is making lunches for the week for himself. Ds1 has been doing homework and is now chilling with headphones on. Ds2 is playing with friends on Roblox and I am here procrastinating as I don't really want to get the laundry in.
The boys are going to their Grandma's in about half a hour and then dh and I will probably go out for something to eat. He's training later and I will iron some school clothes as one of my kids is in school tomorrow.

DH is mowing the lawn, DD is hanging out in her room, DS2 is playing cricket, DS1 has gone to get his hair cut. I'm drinking coffee and scrolling on MN!

DH had a vasectomy Friday so came home last night but is now largely welded to his chair resting so kids are getting too much tv whilst I try and put away all the washing I've done all weekend alone with the kids, and generally run around after 3 kids. Soup for lunch except 7 yo who requested chocolate spread in bread.
Chilled afternoon, walk to the shop and general housework. Weather grey and DH can't walk far 🙄 so we're staying home
Pasta bake for tea, some Uni work and a grown up series once kids are in bed, bags ready for school tomorrow

I'm living life on the edge. I'm watching the clouds like a hawk as I have washing outside and the weather is intermittent. There were a few drops of rain minutes ago but the sun has peeped out from behind a grey cloud and the rain has gone.

DH and I have been swimming, to jacuzzi and sauna

DD has gone to do her punting job, it pays very well and has stopped the constant demands for money and keeps her fit, can recommend.

DS has just been ipadding.

Cat has been catting, just lazing around, eating and cuddling.

DH is just back from dropping DD off in town. We had a McDonalds lunch. Need to feed chickens.

Unfortunately no such thing as a bank holiday in my job. I finished a night shift at 7:30am. Came home and demolished the biscuit tin. Then me DH, and DD2 went to a local garden centre to get some plants for the garden. Came home, had a shower and cleaned the bathroom. Bacon buttie for dinner and now it's bed time while DH looks after the kids. Then I get to do it all again tonight.

We've had a pretty chilled morning - I went for a run with a friend, Dh went for a bike ride and the teenagers lolloped around.
Ds17 is spending the day with his gf as it's their year anniversary - they've just got back from town after going out for brunch. Not sure what else they're up to.
I've done a bit of marking and drunk a lot of coffee. Ds13, Dh and I are going for a walk in the woods shortly then calling at my brother's for tea and cake.
We might bbq tonight if the sun comes out - it's a bit grey at the moment. Otherwise it's sausage and mash!

Dds are at uni so will have a group chat later on in the day

A nice wholesome & relaxed day so far.

Woke up quite early with baby ds (about 6.15am) but he was happy just cooing and laying in bed with us for 40 mins or so, which was lovely. Toddler dd got in bed with us too and we were just chatting and cuddling.
Dh & dd went to the supermarket, whilst I got myself and ds dressed.
Out of the house by 9.30am, we went out for a nice walk by the sea, went to a cafe for some breakfast followed by a visit to our fave charity shops. Picked up some bargains. Back by 12.30, fed baby ds, dd playing with a new jigsaw we got from the charity shop. Now just lounging in bed on my phone with baby asleep on me & the sun shining through the window. I love days like this.

Husband has gone to my sisters to do some jobs for her , I’ve walked the dog , prepped dinner for tonight ( and tomorrow as I’m busy tomorrow ), had lunch and this afternoon will be watching the cricket on Sky . Daughter has had lunch and is reading .

Ds1 is at work, the other two are in their rooms. DH has been put on a bike ride. I have exercised, cleaned the fridge and am now scrolling online. Need to have a think about what we’re taking to a coronation party on Saturday.
