Morning all - lovely sunny day here in Cornwall. DD14 has a friend over for a sleepover & their Maccie D’s brekkie has just been delivered. Wish I’d ordered a bacon & cheese flatbread now! Had a rubbish night’s sleep as kept going hot & cold & felt achey & really sick. I have problems with my lower back & for some reason when it’s extra painful, it affects the rest of me really badly. I also had a headache & kept going dizzy. Oh the joys! It didn’t help that DD’s friend has a urine infection & honestly I have never known someone go to the loo so often! Plus she kept leaving the bathroom light on & it’s quite bright so that woke me up too!
DD is taking her friend home on the train this aft & because it’s some distance away, I won’t be collecting her until early evening. Meanwhile I am going on my own to a matinee of “Fisherman’s Friends - The Musical”. My ticket only cost £12 as it was through the National Lottery scheme. Normally costs £37! A bit of precious me time. There’s a Waitrose on the way back so I’ll treat myself to a posh bottle of wine. DH is working til 5 & will pick up something for his tea ( I’m having a frozen veg lasagne & need to buy some garlicbread). Was planning pie & mash but didn’t fancy peeling spuds when I got home from the show. Tonight we’ll chill & watch BGT. Not sure about Bruno Tolioni as a judge! Oh & our bunnies need feeding & letting out at some point!

A busy one for you!! Hope you feel better soon. Bbq later for kids friends so prepping this morning then mad house clean before everyone arrives.

Icequeen01 · 15/04/2023 10:09

Going up to London with our best friends to belatedly celebrate my friends birthday with high tea at Fortnum and Masons then off to one of those "secret" cocktail bars for a few cocktails! DS23 will pick us up from the train station so we don't need to worry about the alcohol intake! Can't wait - we always have a lovely time with our friends. Sadly the weather isn't in our favour and I'm now panicking about my choice of outfit and whether my hair will frizz in the damp 🤣

SwimmingFree · 15/04/2023 10:16

I love Saturdays. DH is at work, it's a beautifully sunny day here since the fog cleared. We are just home from swimming lessons. DD age 8 is sitting eating a snack on the floor, other DD age 10 is upstairs in her room. I've made a lovely latte with the coffee machine and enjoying the sunshine streaming in the windows. A lovely moment of peace before I tackle the house work.

Enjoy your theatre, what a lovely thing to do, I'd enjoy a theatre trip on my own I think!

Flittingaboutagain · 15/04/2023 10:18

Enjoy the theatre. Is that based on the real life band?

Chilled one here. Poorly toddler so had to cancel our plans with friends.

pimplebum · 15/04/2023 10:19

Everyone snacking and on phones sleepover later - god help me ! Coffee yogurt and berries and nibble of Easter egg

Natsku · 15/04/2023 10:26

DD has gone to her volleyball final so I've been up since 5 to see her off, long way away so she won't be back until late. OH is working today so he's gone too. Just me and DS today (lthough when I mentioned that to him he pulled a face and said he wants a day with Dada instead :( harsh!

Having my lunch now and after quiet time we'll go for a walk. It's a lovely sunny day. Hoping we'll see the neighbours grandchildren in their garden as then he could play with them. Later on I need to do some driving theory studying - I'm finding it so confusing!

I planned on going to a friend's for drinks tonight but had to cancel as OH is working tomorrow as well so I better have an early night to be up with DS tomorrow.

GrouchyKiwi · 15/04/2023 10:31

Enjoy your theatre trip!

We are having a quiet at-home day.

The 6-year-old is getting on my last nerve so DH is going to take her out for a walk with the dog. Eldest is still in bed, middle is wandering about doing stuff.

I am contemplating catching up on the ironing while watching some interior design programmes.

@Icequeen01 we are off up to London too, unfortunately not for high tea at F&M. Dropping DS1 back to his halls after the Easter break.

@SunshineLollipopsAndRainbows yes heard it's lovely and sunny in Cornwall. Enjoy Fishermen's Friends. I have booked tickets for a few shows at the HfC later in the year. Can't wait.

lorn195 · 15/04/2023 10:37

@Icequeen01 forgot to add, back down to Cornwall after the drop off!

frozendaisy · 15/04/2023 10:44

Off on a hike with eldest shortly.
Buy meat from local butchers on way back.
H in pain so stuck on couch.
Mammoth homework session before return to school.

CrotchetyCrocheting · 15/04/2023 10:47

Not a lot here. I took ds to Saturday study this morning and am now lying on the couch with the dogs feeling like death. Dh is upstairs working. Teen dd is still fast asleep. I have to pick ds up from study at 1 and walk the dogs but apart from that my plan is to do as little as possible.

kittykatrawks · 15/04/2023 10:51

Fun Saturdays all round.

I'm doing a mountain of washing-just returned from a weeks break at Windsor. Dd goes back to uni tomorrow so I'm having to rewash clothes she brought back from uni and then wore on hols.

Boys at football this afternoon so I'll have a bit of quiet lol. I'm in an M.E flare with canker sores, so feeling a bit sorry for myself.

Hope you feel better soon OP and enjoy your weekends all.

riotlady · 15/04/2023 10:52

Did some tidying this morning while DH slept (late shift) and we’ve just all had a nice late breakfast. DD is watching Charlie and Lola so I’m going to have a shower and then we’re all off to a local nature reserve for a walk and probably a scone in the cafe after. Food shop later then DH is working again this evening so I’ll be on my own in front of the telly once DD goes to bed

princessspotify · 15/04/2023 10:53

Morning. I've been up since 8. I've unloaded and loaded dishwasher. Got a wash going and have started my assignment for my degree. Teen Ds still in bed, Ds2 watching the mandalorian. Dh is at work until 2. Need to tidy up at some point and then this evening off to the cinema to watch the new super-mario brothers film.

TheChosenTwo · 15/04/2023 10:58

Was up at 7 to wake dd2 up and take her to work.
Have done a bit of housework. Dh not feeling 100%, he came down to have some breakfast but took a cup of tea back to bed an hour ago. I’m downstairs reading my book and now doing a bit of online shopping. Ds is playing FIFA, dd1 is still asleep.
Not sure what we are doing today, nothing planned except I’m meeting a friend for dinner tonight. Was going to take dd1 back to uni today but she’s decided she wants to go back on Sunday now so that’s my job tomorrow.
Lazy day on the cards for me I guess! Lovely 😊

garlictwist · 15/04/2023 10:59

Cloudy and grey here in Yorkshire. Meeting some friends for coffee, then taking my nieces ice skating. My arthritis is flaring up at the moment so I'm hoping I will manage ok.

lorn195 · 15/04/2023 10:37

@Icequeen01 forgot to add, back down to Cornwall after the drop off!

Goodness - that's quite a journey! Luckily for us the journey time into London is only an hour.

AnythingMuppetTM · 15/04/2023 11:02

DH made me a cup of tea and then went back to sleep.
We forgot to put dishwasher on last night so he did that and I’m just about to unload.
I spoke to my mum and will speak to my brother.
The DC are bemoaning the fact it’s school on Monday and they’ve not done any of their homework.
I am going to get dressed and me and DH have arranged some gardening time, which I hate but needs doing. He has to go visit his mum.

Beenhereageskeepchangingname · 15/04/2023 11:03

Dh at work all day , dd at work until 2 ish. Ds has just got back from his paper round, but I think the exercise was a bit of a shock to him today - he’s got back into bed with the telly on haha .

I have just washed up , going to get dressed and go to the handy man for some coat hooks to sort out the porch / vestibule/ doorway were everyone trips over coats and shoes

AnythingMuppetTM · 15/04/2023 11:04

@lorn195 what Uni is your DC at? How are they finding London live?

Beaverbridge · 15/04/2023 11:13

Pegged out a washing in lovely sunshine. Shower then head to nearest town to look at opticians, see if any have available appointment. Need new ones, lost another pair through the week. Meet zOH after his shift finishes. Probably park up on couch, catch up on shows we watch. OH will fall asleep immediately!.

lorn195 · 15/04/2023 11:16

AnythingMuppetTM · 15/04/2023 11:04

@lorn195 what Uni is your DC at? How are they finding London live?

@AnythingMuppetTM DS1 is at London Met Uni.

He loves the quicker pace of London, the better transport links 😂 and the diversity. He's settled in really well into city student life.

Admittedly when he comes home, he does enjoy seeing the 'greenery' which is preferable to tower blocks and buildings.

2chocolateoranges · 15/04/2023 11:17

Relaxing morning for me, woken at 7.20 by neighbour sorting out his works van. Dh, and 2 adult children are still sleeping.

it’s lovely and sunshine here and we are off to watch the local rugby team later.

NeedWineNow · 15/04/2023 11:17

We've been up the road to take some stuff to the charity shop (which we discovered wasn't open today), and get the paper and some bread. Now at home with sausages in the oven for sausage sarnies before we go up to London for the Chelsea game. Weather feeling a bit chilly and damp so could quite easily tuck myself in on the sofa instead of going out but there we go!
