Morning all - lovely sunny day here in Cornwall. DD14 has a friend over for a sleepover & their Maccie D’s brekkie has just been delivered. Wish I’d ordered a bacon & cheese flatbread now! Had a rubbish night’s sleep as kept going hot & cold & felt achey & really sick. I have problems with my lower back & for some reason when it’s extra painful, it affects the rest of me really badly. I also had a headache & kept going dizzy. Oh the joys! It didn’t help that DD’s friend has a urine infection & honestly I have never known someone go to the loo so often! Plus she kept leaving the bathroom light on & it’s quite bright so that woke me up too!
DD is taking her friend home on the train this aft & because it’s some distance away, I won’t be collecting her until early evening. Meanwhile I am going on my own to a matinee of “Fisherman’s Friends - The Musical”. My ticket only cost £12 as it was through the National Lottery scheme. Normally costs £37! A bit of precious me time. There’s a Waitrose on the way back so I’ll treat myself to a posh bottle of wine. DH is working til 5 & will pick up something for his tea ( I’m having a frozen veg lasagne & need to buy some garlicbread). Was planning pie & mash but didn’t fancy peeling spuds when I got home from the show. Tonight we’ll chill & watch BGT. Not sure about Bruno Tolioni as a judge! Oh & our bunnies need feeding & letting out at some point!

I’m Devon, it’s definitely a beautiful day in the south west 😍
DC and I have been out in the garden playing with the dogs, a football and his play tent thingy. Absolute chaos and very loud but luckily no near neighbours to care about the shrieking and barking 🤣
we’re now curled up on the sofa watching Grassmen, having some quiet time before his nap.

mondaytosunday · 15/04/2023 11:29

Cloudy in London 😕.
Having a very late breakfast and wondering if I should wake up my teen daughter to go out for a hot chocolate and cinnamon roll as we agreed last night - she has turned her days and nights upside down but needs to get back into waking up at 6.45 Monday!
Dogs have not been walked but are snoozing . Cats are wondering if they could convince me to give them a second breakfast. Birds are chirping like crazy.

Livebythecoast · 15/04/2023 11:38

Raining here in Kent :-(
DP at work til 7pm. DD19 stayed at friends last night so no doubt I'll get a message later asking to be picked up cos her poor princess legs don't work to get a bus. Despite having her provisional licence, she shows no interest in learning to drive yet and just uses it for I.D !
Quiet day for me with some housework.

Happy Saturday everyone!

gogohmm · 15/04/2023 11:39

Going for a walk along the coast, we live by the beach though so no driving. Might watch the wading birds in the hide

FlittingAboutAgain it’s based on the original story. I meant to go & see the films but never got round to it.

Had a morning of tidying and ironing uniforms ready for Monday. Taking dd to town this aft while ds goes to a party. Fish for tea then wine and telly. Early night after a rare night out last night!

Woke up at 5 to feed baby and went back to sleep till 9, came down for feed and breakfast and to feed cats. Just got baby dressed after some playing. now waiting for him to fall asleep so I can get a shower myself. Will go to family's house today and then I have a few self care treatments booked for this evening. Bit of time to myself. Will then put DC in the bath and bed when I get back and DP will be home from work so will probably find something to watch on Netflix for evening.

Your day sounds fun, sorry you got a shit nights sleep though, hopefully tonight will be better!

ButteredJorts · 15/04/2023 12:05

At my partner's in the Highlands, going back to mine (North London!) for the final time tonight in the overnight coach before I move in permanently at the end of the month!

So glad this is the final journey, it's a 10 hour coach trip plus trains, next time coming up is the last time ever doing this!

So I'm packing the few bits I need to take back with me and contemplating a brief hike before I have to be cramped on a tiny seat for ages

Did some yoga this morning, and drunk a ton of coffee because we have a proper bean grinder and coffee machine up here and I'm back to a cafetiere for the next fortnight.
DP brought me a cooked breakfast back from his hotel shift so that was a bonus.

He's taking his kids on holiday next week so is sorting out all their stuff before their mum drops them here shortly and generally faffing about!

Debating whether to get an earlier train into Glasgow to escape the kids and chaos before I have to get my own back from his Dads tomorrow!
Might go to the cinema on my own and get some food.

Lazy Saturday here. DD (9) is enjoying more independence so she picked our phone order brunch from the bakers. We are all -DH, DD and I plus furries- basking in a sunbeam on the sofa and watching Enola Holmes. I'll take tiny dog for a walk later and pick up extra cheese and a balsamic onion and garlic flatbread. Making homemade mac and cheese by popular request for dinner. Will be sleeping in a fort in the family room with DD tonight eating nonsense and staying up late.

MysteryBelle · 15/04/2023 12:20

Sounds good, op. I love hearing about people’s day! Love this thread.

I too have insomnia and woke up very early. We all are having a slow Saturday and my ds is going out later to see the Mario Brothers movie. Dh and I will probably take a walk and do some projects inside or out in the garden. He has a couple days off so we’re enjoying that.

MysteryBelle · 15/04/2023 12:22

And we’ll have pizza for dinner, I made the dough for the crust yesterday. My cat is cuddling up to me right now 😀

ImSweetEnoughDarlin · 15/04/2023 12:24

Im still in bed. Might get up and make some lunch in a minute.

AnythingMuppetTM · 15/04/2023 12:27

@lorn195 I know it well! I’m glad he is enjoying London life. I do wonder how students in London get on when everything is so dispersed.

The day has gone downhill trying to deal with stressy phone calls and other peoples problems. I’m not even showered and dressed. I will do that now!

PurplePositivity · 15/04/2023 12:29

Just had a huge row with everyone!

Teenagers are driving me insane, 'D'H put the washing in the tumble dryer, it's absolutely gorgeous and sunny, he doesn't see what the issue is. Hmm maybe the eleventy million pound electric bill Hmm

I'm so tempted to either a) run away or b) crack open the wine!

Think I may go on strike today.

lucysmam · 15/04/2023 12:33

I'm very, very slowly pottering about the house trying not to over-do it. I'll put some washing away in a minute then sit down again to varnish some peg people and finish sewing butterfly wings.

The girls are in town with my list, and their dad. Apparently dd2 has her own list of "cheer mum up presents" for them to buy 🤣. They're meant to be getting school shoes (or suitable for school but wearable outside school too) for dd1, and tights for dd2 🙄

Burgers for tea, with salad. Not sure how much I'll eat but really need a proper meal.

CharlotteStreetW1 · 15/04/2023 13:26

Afternoon. Hope you enjoy the show OP. I'm sitting at the kitchen just now waiting for my nails to dry.

Lovely grown up niece is coming to stay and is due any minute.

DH has gone to football, will be out until late. I've done loads of cleaning and made up the guest room. House is looking its best for once 🙂 (apart from the pile of laundry on our bedroom floor which I will tackle it once nails are fully dry).

Planning to do salmon mousse on sourdough bread with eggs for lunch - should I do scrambled or poached?

We will spend the day gossiping and get a Chinese delivery for dinner.

CaramelicedLatte · 15/04/2023 13:38

Not much right now! DS1 has gone out with friends to get some lunch, probably also from McDonald's. DS2, DD and DH are watching the Simpsons whilst eating lunch.

DD and I went to her horseriding lesson this morning, then grabbed lunch from the farm shop on the way home, so now I'm eating far too much pate and bread. We're just about to look through the Grand National runners and pick one each to place a small bet on, we never bet on anything else!

Looking forward to some green thai curry for dinner and watching a half decent film if we can find one!

The theatre sounds lovely, OP. I do love a theatre trip.

Naimee87 · 15/04/2023 13:43

Pouring down here! Finally got a lie-in after a full on week of visiting family for easter juggling work/school holidays.

DS13 actually came and food shopped this morning… i’ve got a sore throat/head cold so really appreciated him coming and actually helping. We then scoooped up the dog from my sister and she’s now sleeping on me while DS is gaming online
with his pals…

Wet walk later with the dog and then a nice early evening, film/spaghetti bolognese. Never would i have imagined in my youth being so content with this kind of a saturday night! 😂

Staffymom · 15/04/2023 14:56

Wanted to take a wander to get some plants for the garden. Was waiting until later as to avoid the weekend crowds. However feeling so weak and tired today just want to sleep. Always feel guilty about wasting a good Saturday😱 hopefully just postpone until tomorrow when feeling brighter x

WoofWoofBeachLife · 15/04/2023 15:08

These all sound lovely days even going on strike haha.
It's a beautiful sunny day here in SW Scotland on the coast. The dogs permitted us to have a long lie till 7.30am 😂
We've pottered today, DH went and got my much needed painkillers and cut the grass, walked the dogs, watched the football and now washing his beloved car after painting the calipers last night.
I've done some washing and hung it out, footered with the dogs, and now I'm sitting with my hot water bottle on my broken Fibro and ME body surfing mumsnet.
We won't do much else today, we have been limited lately due to me.
Sunny days are the best.
Hope you feel better op and enjoy the theatre. Xx

EsmeeMerlin · 15/04/2023 15:21

I am currently sat in our local soft play while my children play. We have annual passes so come here quite often. It's a absolutely packed today so slowly being driven mad with the noise. We have also been shopping in a local retail park today and picked up some new sports equipment and trainers. I spend half my money in sports direct.

Later I have some house chores to get on with and I have to prepare myself to be observed teaching my read write inc phonics group. We also have peer review Wednesday so next week will be manic at work. Want to watch the new Elvis film too.
