6 foot trampoline or other gymnastics or fitness equipment on the rooftop balcony?

Can someone help me please? I would love to have a trampoline, I’m very active, but I also have a disability, live abroad, and I’m trying to make things slightly more bearable. I am in the UK for a short time, and I’m trying to think about how to make life a bit easier, especially since I am… A first time homeowner and really struggling to get used to things.

I do a lot of gymnastics, and I have quite a large balcony and live in a place where there is a lot of sun. If I can order a 6 foot trampoline, is there anything I can put underneath of it to make it less noisy? Saying that, my building is full of children, so maybe once they find out, my apartment will become the popular one in the building… I will get some thing with the Safetynet around it. for the summer, if I have an inflatable pool, would I just need to bring it inside to empty it in the bath or something? How does this work?

if I were to buy those indoor gymnastics bars, I am 5 feet tall and about 90 pounds, would it be a good idea? I can’t access a gym easily, so my home needs to be my comfort zone and a place where I can do the things I love. right now, I’m going through hell so trying to make things slightly easier and this would help a lot.

This is the size of it, it’s huge, I think it might be able to fit a trampoline and I wouldn’t go flying off the building… I could get some things for inside, I am looking into getting a porch swing, that might go inside as well. I’m not sure.

Cheeky, no I’m not joking. Yes, I love trampolines, I had them as a child and I can still do a front flip and land on my feet, even though. I have a lot of energy, but I am visually impaired and just purchased my first home, not in the UK I’m trying to find ways to make it more enjoyable. Going to the gym on my own is very difficult, same thing with the pool. If I can put a paddling pool up here, I will.

A paddling pool to dunk your feet would probably be fine but anything more substantial I'd be worried about the weight of the water and possibly causing damage to the balcony.

@Usingchangeofname, I bought this flat for that reason, for the huge space outside. I am visually impaired, and I’m very active. This is also in Greece, and I’m not in a place with a trampoline park or anything like that and I’m still learning what activities are near to where I live and what I could do. Thankfully, there is a beach, it’s full of rocks, but at least in the summertime, I will have a big open space to go swimming. For the rest of the time, I’m trying to figure out how to burn my energy. Any other ideas? Now that you know the space I have I am looking into making a rooftop garden or some thing as well. All of this is very difficult, and sometimes I wish I hadn’t done it, but I’ve only had the place for a month and I’m trying to make things work.

Single, that’s what I’m thinking, like one of those very small things you can just sit in. That would be fine. I also have rollerskates and a 20 inch bicycle, just to give you an idea. I don’t take up much space and I do have a lot of energy so trying to find how to make this work and what I could do

Take up yoga?
A skipping rope would be far less dangerous. A trampoline on a roof top patio is nuts.

An adult trampoline would be more sensible I'd worry that a kids one would be caught by the wind and fly away.

Other gym equipment you could use would be an excersize bike or treadmill

looks like I’m going to have to try and find a trampoline park, even if I have to go to Athens once in a while. I could put a fitness size smaller trampoline inside, I have a lot of space, a skipping rope and yoga would also be good.

i’m trying to find what activities there are in the local area, but I’m still learning and again I’m not sure how open they would be to doing classes for someone like me. around the corner from me, there is a taekwondo academy, but I spend so much time convincing people not to be afraid of my disability, it’s hard sometimes

sugar-free, I would love an exercise bike. A treadmill too, if there is something underneath. I think I might have to go for the much smaller fitness trampoline for inside

pole Fitness? I used to do this- you can get a pole that is spring loaded so doesn’t need screwing in to ceiling. If you’re athletic and good at gymnastics you’ll probably take to it really well, it burns loads of calories, works your core and takes up hardly any space. Sadly I’d probably fall off a pole now but when I used to do it ten years ago, I was in the best shape of my life.

pole would obv go inside although you can actually get poles called stage poles which have a weighted bottom bit and don’t reach the ceiling which work inside or outside. So could actually use it wherever

Pole fitness would be a great idea and something I would also love doing. In my previous home, there was a pole on the balcony and guess who was trying out tricks on it? [Grin]

I can't see how you'd secure a trampoline onto the tiles, although it is sheltered enough for wind not to be a problem. They are very noisy though and your neighbours overhead would probably get very frustrated with it. Tbh trampoline and balcony shouts danger to me even after seeing your balcony.

You'd never be able to empty the paddling pool without either soaking your neighbours or spending hours bringing basins into your apt to throw down the sink.

One of my kids loves the trampoline and also likes hula hooping (you could buy a weighted one?),

What about an exercise bike? Rowing machine? You could leave it outside and cover with a waterproof covering on wet days?

Through the looking glass, hula hooping would be good as well. I will try and look for one of those on Amazon. I will go back in a week, so in the meantime can look for some things to take that would help me to adjust. First time homeowner in a different country, along when you have a visual impairment is really tough going. I’m only one 110, I’m sure it will get easier but in the meantime… It’s one day at a time and I’m doing my best

It might be worth asking if you could joint in with TKD training even if it's too dangerous for you to spar or fight someone.

Sugar-free, I will ask. I think a lot of the locals are learning from me, but disability is still not widely known about in Greece. A lot of people stay at home, I am on social media and people are saying my adventures, so hopefully that will change peoples perspectives little by little. Six years ago, I didn’t speak a word of Greek or know anything about Greece, and now I’m a homeowner there. So, one day at a time. This is taking all the bravery I have and I’m learning every day

i’m not sure if the bigger place near me may have some more activities geared specifically for visually impaired, there’s nothing really in my area. if anyone is good at research and a night owl and can’t sleep, the biggest place to me would be Larissa

Through the looking glass, I’m not sure about that one. I love swimming as well, but you can’t go to the pool in Greece, or to the gym for that matter without a health certificate. I’m still trying to figure out how to get mine since you have to go to a cardiologist and the dermatologist, and there seems to be a bit of a challenge with foreigners and the type of insurance you have and where you can get the certificate. In the summer, I will have access to the sea, thankfully. But for the rest of the year, it’s really important to find things.

If you like doing flips and gymnastics an airtrack might work. Not sure about the tiled floor around it though!

Visually impaired, trampoline, balcony, would could possibly go wrong 🤷🏼‍♀️ I'd go for gym equipment; treadmill, bike, cross trainer.

If I have the gym equipment, if it does go inside and not outside on the balcony with a covering, do I need to put something underneath of it like mats and how noisy would it be for the person living underneath? As it is grease, no carpet everything is out of Wood or tile inside. I have thought about changing one of the rooms to carpet
