I love travel vlogs…. Ben and David’s cruise with us ones, the despicable 3, they’re my faves but I enjoy all sorts. I get lots of ideas of places and things I’d like to do.

JimmyDurham · 09/04/2023 20:41

If you're in London, try Jago Hazzard. "Tales from the Tube" and other odd stories about London.

Where to start...! Depends what you like.

What are you into op?

@PetitPorpoise i am open to anything!

I like:

but anything that’s good and captivating will be good with me!

I went down a real rabbit hole with ‘Steve’s MRE’s’ a few months ago. It’s a very softly spoken American chap who tries out old and new army rations.

Strangely compelling.

”Let’s get this out on a tray. Nice”

PetitPorpoise · 09/04/2023 21:24

Travel : Kara and Nate are good if a little cheesy.

History: spoilt for choice: history hit, history extra, anything Lucy Worsely (love her), Timeline, Royalty Now Studios,

Fashion: have recently got into some plus size channels if that suits you. Mollie Campsie is really good and Sasha Pollari

Let me know what you think! I love youtube.

CormoranStrikeIsBloodyLovely · 09/04/2023 21:30

I enjoy Bailey Sarian- she does her make up and tells about murderers and crimes. She does a lot of research and gives full back stories but tells them in a really sweet way.

I always strangely enjoy Walk With Me Tim. He goes to terribly rated holiday parks and hotels. My 8 years old son and I love him 😂

I watch all the Lucy Worsely documentaries on repeat so looking for similar shows.

helpfulperson · 09/04/2023 21:47

I love Ben and David as well as kara and nate. Naick and Kim are good as are camper vibes. Depends if you like travel vloggers or something else.

Whatt · 09/04/2023 21:48

MrBallen

Refrosty · 09/04/2023 21:51

Travelling Robert. I love his RV trips across America. The latest one was Louis and Clerk trail, which, as a non American, was very educational.

kerstina · 09/04/2023 21:56

I have been listening to True crime Rocket science .He is the person that wrote books on Madeline Mccan .I only got into him when Nicola Bulley went missing .I like his voice and the way he looks at things from different angles . I like listening to his you tube channel before I go to sleep as his voice is very soothing .

OhBeAFineGuyKissMe · 09/04/2023 22:04

Leon the lobster. But start at the start.

And Girl with Dog - she grooms very cute dogs and occasionally cats, funny and easy watching.

chevvyroo · 09/04/2023 22:05

Music:

Rick Beato
Justin Hawkins Rides Again

boymum9 · 09/04/2023 22:07

I also love watching Naick and Kim at the moment!

Grimbleton · 09/04/2023 22:10

Tom Scott - things you didn’t know you wanted to know. Covers interesting / quirky topics, mix of interesting places/history/science. I’m doing a poor job of selling it, but I find his vids interesting!

Maple2023 · 09/04/2023 22:21

Travel - trek trendy

Relaxing lifestyle - namis life

Small homes - living big in a tiny home, never too small

Welsh twins for pure chaos (separately they are a makeup artist and skincare YouTuber, together they're chaotic twins)

McConkeysPlate · 09/04/2023 22:26

Amoeba Sisters if you fancy a bit of science

ItsOnlyWordsInnit · 09/04/2023 22:30

I have a whole load, a baddish habit I picked up during lockdown.

Time Team Official (shows back episodes plus new digs)

1bike1world - a Scottish ex-welder called Dean pootling round Europe (and ultimately the world) with his rescue cat Nala.

Walk with Me Tim (mentioned by PP, does a great series on ‘worst rated hotels’).

Mama Doctor Jones - an American gynecologist in New Zealand, very witty and informative.

Molly Burke - blind public speaker who talks about disability and has a fab fluffy guide dog.

Saafiya Nygaard - weird lifestyle stuff with her affable boyfriend, things like mixing every colour lipstick at Sephora and seeing what colour come out of it.

The Try Guys - non- toxic American guys try out new stuff, but do look out for the drama last autumn when one of them turned out to be very toxic.

Karen Puzzles - jigsaws.

Bernadette Banner - vintage clothing and Edwardian stuff, with gratuitous shots of guinea pigs.

GeoWizard - who knew that Geoguessr could be interesting? This Brummie also invented straight-line challenges (crossing countries in a totally straight line).

FoilArmsandHog - best Irish comedians ever, put up a new sketch every week.

A Chick Called Albert - he rescues animals and incubates eggs.

Uncle Roger - Malasian comedian pretending to be 50 rips western chefs apart for their terrible Asian cookery - he ‘hates’ Jamie Oliver most of all.

Kitten Academy - fosters cats and kittens and has a 24-hour live stream.

Cash Jordan - New York realtor is very wittily rude about apartments and shows you round neighbourhoods.

ReadingthePast - I like her interpretations of history, Tudor in particular.

Cecilia Blomdahl - Swedish woman with fluffy dog and fluffy Viking man living on Svalbard.

Useful Charts - presents royal family trees.

Atomic Shrimp - half scambaiting, half food challenges (eating cheaply, foraging).

LegalEagle - very entertaining analyses of current legal issues, eg Trump indictment.

Jessica Kellgren-Fozard - posts about gay and disability issues, often with her wife.

1420 by Daniil Orain - does informal street interviews with Russians, asking their opinion on Putin, the war etc.

Good grief, that’s not even all my subscriptions, but probably enough to be getting on with. I don’t really watch much TV as such, so YouTube is something of a substitute. Hope you find something you like there!

PainterInPeril · 09/04/2023 22:31

My favourite YouTubers at the moment are these:

Atomic Shrimp

Wildbeare

Xtraincome · 09/04/2023 22:33

Peter Santinello - he did an amazing series on the Hasidic Jewish community in New York.

ItsOnlyWordsInnit · 09/04/2023 22:33

I can second both Tom Scott (who is now something of a legend) and Living Big in a Tiny House!

LozzaChops101 · 09/04/2023 22:37

Haze Outdoors. Really nice guy doing bushcraft, long distance hikes and foraging sort of stuff in the UK.

Kay's Cooking. The woman's a genius, she must make money from it too!
