TBF he always seemed very bland. But I sort of figured that’s what she wanted! I really liked all her songs about being happy and relaxed in a grown-up relationship in your thirties. Hope she finds someone else nice. Maybe it’s a bit teenage of me but I love her 😭.

If they have broken up then it's very sad for all involved but think of the absolutely killer album she'll be able to write with it as material.

doing an Eras tour at 33... I wouldn't be surprised if she moves to a more behind the scenes creative role. She clearly has so much creative talent. I can imagine her doing a Prince and writing lots of songs for other people...directing videos etc etc.

@EmmaEmerald I think it's kind of obvious from the lyrics that she's using WW1 imagery to talk about getting through a relationship crisis.

She used addiction in Clean to talk about getting over someone and breaking free from them.

I agree. I've seen people say it's about bereavement generally but I don't think that fits.

Is the break up confirmed? I'm sure over the years I've read that they're engaged, secretly already married, that she's pregnant etc about 50 times.

There are lots of similarities between Taylor and Prince actually. Although, maybe that's just Prince's influence on the music world more generally. Artists are more aware of the need to have control over their material.

I think there are rumours about both her, and some of her ex partners. The assumption would be they were bearding for each other, I guess.

Almost disappointed for her, I just hope it's what she wants. I remember the first time I heard a TS song and I've loved he since and I was hoping there'd be baby swifts so we can have more songs like The Best Day!

As for the bigger than the whole sky theories, I'm sure she said years ago it's her intention to write a song for every significant moment in a lifetime of the human experience. It could well be about pregnancy loss even if she hadn't personally been through it - she will have friends who have.

I love Taylor’s music but some of the fan reactions to this break-up are excruciating. People crying and wailing and leaving cards and flowers at the Cornelia Street apartment that she hasn’t even lived in for about 5 years now. It’s so weird.

People I think forget that"Taylor Swift" the product is different to the person....It would be nice if people could be true to themselves....

I feel for them both. It must be incredibly hard to sustain a relationship in the media scrutiny they exist under. And these break up rumours/ real stories just make it clearer how hard it must be for both of them. As PP have said there are Swifties losing it over this. She’s absolutely at the top of her career and her incredible Eras tour should speak for itself but yet again she’s reduced to her romantic status. I love her music, I’m a huge Swiftie but I also just want her to be happy and for people to leave her personal life alone. But equally I can’t help but feel invested because of the songs about her relationship. Cornelia Street is one of my favourite songs. So is The Great War. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It was weird timing though, as in, she’s pretty private about stuff nowadays and mid tour is a weird time to announce it if it was not particularly recent.

They haven't confirmed it but they've never officially confirmed anything about their relationship as they've kept it all relatively private and, if true, it apparently happened weeks ago. I don't think it's that it a weird time to announce it as they haven't announced anything, it's just that the news has filtered gradually outwards.

They won’t confirm it, but it seems to have come from them on purpose according to people in that line of work.

Honestly, I know it sounds like I’m going, hmm... suspicious, I’m not 😂 just given how tightly she controls stuff - doing it during a break and it being much further down the line, so she could just avoid the reaction and it having been months ago, would have made more sense to me.

But what do I know, lol, and it’s no-one’s business really, just that was what surprised me.

Always assumed she was gay. Not a surprise they broke up.

I imagine if you have a VAST fortune like she has you’re going to be very guarded with whom you date and marry. I assume she will have had her eggs frozen and if she hasn’t, then she will. I hope she finds ‘the one’ in time.
