My mum's dying

And I can't get there until tomorrow. It may be too late. I have to get a train. Getting older is shit.

I've been away for a few days, first time in years. I'm in a guest house not knowing what to do with myself. Everything's packed ready for me to get up and go in the morning. My big sis is with her, my little sis doesn't want to be there at the end and my brothers are on their way. She only got taken in today. Such a fucking shock and so fucking unfair.

We were all with my mum when she died but it was expected but when my dad was in hospital dying, me and my son arrived ten minutes too late.

I feel you OP. I had to do the 'emergency trip' last week for my beloved gran, who was my second mother, from Spain where I live. I made it in time and had 2 days with her. Our case is almost the other way round to yours - Gran had wonderful care from the nurses and her carers (she was at home in her final days), yet my mum and I did not have the support and closeness from her brothers that you share with your sisters (don't know what is worse, both are hard).
I pray you get there in time, but if you do't please don't punish yourself. You mum will know that you did your very best to get there and will not begrudge anything of you. All the best and hoping for a peaceful ending (sadly gran did not get that).

I'm here with her and my siblings. She's peaceful and sleeping. It's minute by minute.

I'm so glad you got there in time and that your Mum is peaceful. Even if she's asleep I'm sure she will know that you're there. I was with my mum at the end of her life last year and it gave me such comfort that I was there and could tell her how much I loved her.

I'm playing her favourite music and chatting shit to her as I normally do. I think all agitation has now passed and she's slowly slipping away. Her breathing is quite shallow now.

I'm glad you made it to her... hearing is the last thing to go, so keep talking to her and chatting as you would. Tell her anything you'd like her to know, Even if she's not able to respond to you, she'll hear what you're saying.

Thinking of you op! I sat with my sister until she passed away in February. We just held her hand told her we loved her! It was very peaceful and I'm so glad I was there until the end!

Just wanted to send my thoughts. We had a not dissimilar scenario with my Dad who was 57. We knew he wasn't coming home but never once told him that - just spoke about all the places we were gonna go.

I'll be thinking of you, it's the hardest thing to do in the world. Take time when she does pass, there's no hurry to do anything or call anybody. Flowers
