If you're a family of four and have a dishwasher...

How many times a day is it put on? Let's say a weekend day when you're all at home.

Because mine has been on 5 times today...and it's like this most days. Is this normal or am I going wrong somewhere?!

We have ours on when it's full, usually once a day. Five is loads! Are you "use every pan in the kitchen" cooks?

Wow! 4 of us with a small dishwasher. On once a day in the evening. Sometimes I can't fit everything in so wash stuff up though.

Once a day, very occasionally twice a day but that's only really when we have guests round for a roast which is pretty much just Christmas! I can't imagine how it could be possible to put it on 5 times a day.

Once a day, unless we have guests or a particularly complex/multi-course meal. What on earth do you put in 5 loads?!

is yours full size? Is it being stacked properly?

we tend to use the same mug per person all day for hot drinks, if we didn’t then I could see the top rack being filled several times over…

That's not usual, even with a family of 5 and a slimline we only had it on twice a day at the most.

Once a day after the evening meal.

Unless we are batch cooking, At the Weekend making huge batches of lasagne, chilli, curry, meatballs for spaghetti and meatballs. Then wok, huge pans will then go on for a 2nd time.

We are a family of 4, with 2 adults who wfh and eat all meals here, and it’s once a day if we’re actually keeping on top of things.

How the hell are you managing to use the dishwasher 5 times a day?! 😳

We’re 5 and it’s once! How are you filling it five times over?!? Every water glass? Does no one reuse mugs or rinse out lightly used pans? That is seriously nuts.

Once a day.

Twice if we are having eg waffles for breakfast, homemade soup for lunch, homemade scones and then a cooked from scratch meal.

But in days including cereal or toast, and sandwiches, once per day.

how many dishes did you use and what did you cook?

Family of 4 here. We run the dishwasher once or twice a day.
Do you all use new glasses and mugs each time you have a drink? If we did that we'd need to run our dishwasher more often.

Yes maybe!

At breakfast, DH may have a full English on the weekend and ds has pancakes. Dd has a bake at home croissant so I'm using lots of utensils.

Dd will often do some baking on the weekend

Then there's constant tea and coffees, snacks, lunches, dinner.

I must spend half my day loading and unloading it

We are a family of 5. Dishwasher runs once a day. If we have guests it might be more but that would be quite rare. It's almost always once a day, usually after dinner.

Is yours a slimline or smaller than average dishwasher? I can't imagine using it 5 times in one day even if we were having a party. Christmas day for 12 people, it would only be on twice, 3 times at most.

Been on 3 times today but I’ve batch cooked tomato pasta sauce for later in the week, a curry to take in for lunch, a pavlova for lunch tomorrow in addition to 3 meals for us all. Half a load still waiting on the side.

if we’re all out and it’s a simple tea and breakfast then only once a day. But our dishwasher has a ridiculously inefficient layout.
