I always thought it was pronounced "Zay-vee-ar"

But I've heard people saying "ex-zay-vee-ar"

Which is correct or can you say either?

All the Xaviers I know (English, middle class, if that makes a difference) pronounce it like saviour but with a z, so Zaviour.

This is the closest approximation to how I thought it should be pronounced. Seems like it varies.

There's a school in Liverpool called St Francis Xavier. It's usually just called SFX but if said in full, I've heard it called Ex ay vee ur.

My first instinct was xay-vier but then i remembered in the X men films it's Professor Ex-zay-vier....if that's relevant 🤓
