Can you recommend me a funny podcast series please, to lighten up long drives and hospital visits. Funny, lighthearted and upbeat would be perfect. Podcast novice so not sure where to look or what for. Thanks

Parenting hell is good. There's a big back catalogue too if you like it. It's Josh Widdicombe and Rob Beckett talking parenting but started in lockdown.

I also like the Joe Marler show. It's a bit juvenile but Joe basically talks to lots of people about their jobs and it's really interesting. He asks all the stupid questions you actually want to know. Probably not one for in front of the kids though.

happysingleversary · 28/03/2023 15:51

What app do you use?

Or just go for Joe Rogan and his back catalogue of new and interesting topics

TallulahMazda · 28/03/2023 15:52

Thank you. I'll have a look
No kids present so as smutty as you like!

I don't have an app apart from the purple one already loaded to iPhone. Happy to download what's needed really. Ideally free

Everything is Alive.

InDubiousBattle · 28/03/2023 15:53

The Elis James & John Robins show is very funny and has a podcast.

happysingleversary · 28/03/2023 15:54

Spotify or Amazon Music - I use the latter as it comes included in Prime

You can then click on 'podcasts' and it will show you ones that are available. You can start searching any topic and just have a listen.

I do like Rogan as you can go down rabbit holes and it's good escapism.

Hello from the Magic Tavern

Tootyfilou · 28/03/2023 15:55

I love Grace Dents comfort eating. Its a sort of Desert Island discs but food. Its really funny.

YarmsupY · 28/03/2023 15:57

Everything Is Alive – Everything is Alive is an unscripted interview show in which all the subjects are inanimate objects.
Hello from the Magic Tavern – Hello from the Magic Tavern is a podcast about Arnie, a human from Chicago who has fallen through a magical rift behind a Burger King into the land of Foon. Every episode is improvised and there's an array of characters.

TallulahMazda · 28/03/2023 15:59

Get into The Archers! It's great and you can brush up storylines on bbc website to help get into it. Listen to the omnibus edition on BBC Sounds app for a big weekly dose.

DysonBison · 28/03/2023 16:02

Three Bean Salad - Ben Partridge, Mike Wozniak and Henry Paker discussing, very loosely, a weekly theme suggested by listeners. Quickly feels as if you're in the pub with your three funniest friends and the in-jokes you've shared for decades.

TallulahMazda · 28/03/2023 16:04

That is EXACTLY what I am looking for above.

Answer Me This! It has me howling at some eps.

yikesanotherbooboo · 28/03/2023 16:09

Off Menu with James Acaster and Ed Gamble can be very funny. I like quite a lot of the BBC dramas for switching off eg Lord Peter Wimsey, Miss Marple, Paul Temple etc or classic book dramatisations eg Cold Comfort Farm, North and South etc It's well worth doing battle with the BBC Sounds App. Things tend to come and go, a bit like streaming platforms but there is usually something to listen to.

The Therapy Crouch - Peter Crouch is a very wealthy now retired footballer whose banter with his model wife Abbey is so funny. Very down to earth couple. Love them.

My dad wrote a porno. Funniest podcast ever.
