How much would you be ready to pay for this takeaway menu (made by local that runs a small catering service from home):

(Feeds 3 or 4)

1.5 kg or 2kg full chicken - Moroccan olive chicken (looks like this: https://www.google.com/search?q=djaj+mhamar&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwiMqMeFz_79AhWbnCcCHc_zCTsQ2-cCegQIABAA&oq=djaj+mhamar&gs_lcp=CgNpbWcQAzIFCAAQgAQyBQgAEIAEMgQIABAeMgQIABAeMgQIABAeMgQIABAeMgQIABAeMgQIABAeMgQIABAeMgYIABAFEB46BggAEAgQHjoHCAAQgAQQGDoICAAQgAQQsQM6BwgAEIoFEEM6CggAEIoFELEDEENQ5gJY1xFgixJoAXAAeACAAYIBiAGJCJIBBDEwLjKYAQCgAQGqAQtnd3Mtd2l6LWltZ8ABAQ&sclient=img&ei=edwiZMyHMpu5nsEPz-en2AM&bih=824&biw=1600&rlz=1C5CHFA_enGB1017GB1017#imgrc=_4MCM00GUY3gOM)

Assortment of three Moroccan salads : One cooked carrot salad, one cooked aubergine salad and a cold Moroccan cucumber/tomato/onion salad.

12 vegetarian samosas

4 moroccan pancakes: https://www.google.com/search?q=mssemen&tbm=isch&ved=2ahUKEwjZmqSMz_79AhX_vicCHepJB1cQ2-cCegQIABAA&oq=mssemen&gs_lcp=CgNpbWcQAzoFCAAQgAQ6BggAEAcQHjoECAAQHjoHCAAQigUQQzoICAAQgAQQsQM6BAgAEANQjQhY8A5g8g9oAHAAeACAAWyIAdYEkgEDNy4xmAEAoAEBqgELZ3dzLXdpei1pbWfAAQE&sclient=img&ei=h9wiZJm7OP_9nsEP6pOduAU&bih=824&biw=1600&rlz=1C5CHFA_enGB1017GB1017#imgrc=NrxuciuFwumwoM)

I’d probably pay £20 a head, so £60-£70

Chewbecca · 28/03/2023 13:28

Maybe £25?

Surprised that it is suggested a whole chicken and 12 samosas would feed 3, I would just put feeds 4.

BeachBlondey · 28/03/2023 13:28

£30

£70

Stravawindow · 28/03/2023 13:35

£25 I think. I wouldn't eat it though. Food just not to my taste. Better than an M&S £10/12 dine in.

peachescariad · 28/03/2023 13:37

Max £60 - that wouldn't be enough for us as a 4 especially as no rice/potato side.

HealthyFats · 28/03/2023 13:39

£15-20 a head depending on where you are. I would like the option of more pancakes. I wouldn't bother saying 3 or 4- if it feeds 4 people will work out it will also feed 3 and it makes it sound as if the portions will be small.

toastofthetown · 28/03/2023 13:39

Is this a takeaway served hot, or a meal kit box? Pricing will depend on your area, competition and existing reputation. If I didn’t know what to expect I would pay significantly less than if I’d been to your restaurant already and eaten there. I would want to pay more than £10-£15 per head for a totally unknown punt, especially with a set menu.

runsense · 28/03/2023 13:40

Thank you for your feedback. I will add more pancakes and a more filling side

a takeaway served hot for the local community
I could add a few options to choose from

Hope your local community is near me because that looks delicious!

I'd probably want to pay similar to what a takeaway would cost so around 50 quid. Maybe a bit more as your menu seems to be more restaurant quality than standard takeaway.

Littleloveydovey · 28/03/2023 13:45

I surprised people would pay 20 a head. That is quite an expensive restaurant price for chicken and some sides.

for takeaway I’d be unlikely to go about 10 a head.

£60 if cooked.

£15 per head

andymary · 28/03/2023 13:49

£45-£50 in total, which would sound like a great deal to me if it was to feed 4 people.
One more salad to make it one per person if 4 people would be ideal though.

Are you cooking this in your own kitchen at home?

roses2 · 28/03/2023 13:52

It sounds like a main course in a restaurant so if at home I would pay slightly less than a restaurant at £10-£15/head.

ComtesseDeSpair · 28/03/2023 13:52

Several local Turkish restaurants (South East London) do a whole peri peri / marinated chicken plus three or four sides and naan / pitta for about £20-25 total. I can’t imagine paying much more than that tbh, even for fancy premium ingredients. Chicken and salads is also quite an easy meal to make at home so the market for a dinner party would be limited unless also very reasonably priced.

Anskl · 28/03/2023 13:53

£60.

Though it sounds very nice and if you live in an affluent area without much competition or many local takeaways you might be able to command a higher price.

Can you include a bisteeya? 🥰
