You win the Euromillions tonight...

areyoustillhere · 24/03/2023 20:17

£57,000,000

You get the win confirmed and 100% assurance that the money will be in your bank next Friday (no idea how long it takes to be honest, but go with it).

How do you spend this next week, including Friday when the money hits? Ignoring the fact you have to go to Camelot or wherever for all that faff...

I'd spend the week handing over my workload to someone - I'm self employed and a lot of people would be happy to take my cases.
Can't take off anywhere as DD soon sitting her GCSEs but I'd be planning holidays!

Andnot · 24/03/2023 20:29

when DH used to work I dreamt I’d say forget the car a chauffeur is picking you up tonight. More than that I didn’t dare to dream. Can’t even conjure up a dream these days.

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 24/03/2023 20:31

I would spend it in a state of shock!!

Mum2jenny · 24/03/2023 20:31

Promised a colleague if I win, he can have £15 million for his idea. Probably completely outing if any of my colleagues are on Mums net. If so, please don’t put me.

Mum2jenny · 24/03/2023 20:32

out me, not put me

Wond3rment · 24/03/2023 20:32

I will go to work as I have committed to it and don’t want to let my colleagues down. I will look at my bank balance online every chance I get on Friday - I’ll be getting it transferred to my bank account. And then for the weekend we going to head to a 5 star hotel to make our plans for the future.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 24/03/2023 20:33

I would sort myself and those I love out and then I'd dedicate a lot of time and money to a cause that I know needs it.

I'm not just charitable I would definitely make sure I have all the luxuries I've never had the thing I dream a lot about is holidays

evtheria · 24/03/2023 20:34

Massive dinner out with family!! Big tips to staff. BIG. HUGE.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 24/03/2023 20:35

@Wond3rment

Apparently you don't just get the money into your current account, you have to open an account with a private bank who can handle the sum

LadyFlumpalot · 24/03/2023 20:35

Nissan GTR. A second hand, low mileage one so I don't have to wait. Get it booked into Enginetuner for a massive engine build.

Start looking for a new house with land, garages, stables and a horse or two.

Look for a house in Cornwall, preferably on the far western coast where it's all jagged cliffs, abandoned mines and dramatic weather.

Book a months holiday somewhere quiet and warm for the summer holidays. Surprise parents by telling them they are coming with us.

Sack off work and start a qualification in goldsmithing.

CatMattress · 24/03/2023 20:36

I'd love to see the worried frown leave DPs face. I would take us all on a hot, relaxing holiday to see if this chest infection I can't shake would finally fuck off.
Then I would write a book with all the spare time and brain space I had.

Jigsawsandcoffee · 24/03/2023 20:36

I'd start looking for a new house for myself and my sister, and handover my work to someone else in the office as I couldn't just walk away and leave things untidy. Then I'd Google how to become a beekeeper

Harping0n · 24/03/2023 20:37

I would tell DH.
Give money to family members
Buy a house in my village.
Give money to charity
When DC exams over go on a lovely holiday
Buy a sports car
Go Shopping with a personal shopper

areyoustillhere · 24/03/2023 20:39

Similar to me @Wond3rment

Work on Monday and Tuesday at least, then a couple of days off, where I'd book out any free appointments my massage lady has for the rest of the week.

On Friday, I'd get my immediately family together to tell them the news and then transfer them some pocket money for the weekend.

Then off to a luxury hotel for more pampering and planning on who to give to, etc.

There's a huge huge chunk of land for sale near me, that will be getting bought ASAP and then start looking at architects to build my dream house right in the middle of it.
Going to private doctors and sorting out all my various ailments.
Planning some absolutely amazing holidays and plan which cars I want to buy. I hope I win 😂

areyoustillhere · 24/03/2023 20:42

Oh, Friday would be new car day for DS and I too.

LER83 · 24/03/2023 20:43

I would go straight out and buy the most gorgeous dog that I saw for sale today!! Then would find a house to buy with some land so I could get more dogs and cats! And chickens! And a veg patch!

TomatoSandwiches · 24/03/2023 20:43

I'd make a list of who I wanted to share with and how much.
Talk to my solicitor about preparing a new will and tax implications about gifting monies.
Have a cooked breakfast at the local cafe every morning and treat a stranger, get my eyebrows done and a manicure Thursday so I look a little more put together on Friday.

Snugglemonkey · 24/03/2023 20:44

I would book holidays. Easter, midterm, summer and probably beyond. Lapland for christmas. I would look at houses too. Maybe start viewing.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 24/03/2023 20:45

tax implications of gifting monies

This is a real bugbear

Nowthatlovehasperished · 24/03/2023 20:45

I'd just be so relieved, not sure that id actually buy anything straight away, maybe some champagne. I'd be planning how best to help my family and close friends and how not to turn into an obnoxious arse.

Rowthe · 24/03/2023 20:47

I'd get my resignation in and plan some holidays

MargotDeWitt · 24/03/2023 20:48

What time is the draw, and what time would I be getting the email? 🤔

Because it will definitely be me 🤣

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 24/03/2023 20:49

I'd turn the heating up. Everything else would be business as usual. Don't think I would truly believe it until I had access to the money.

gettingolderandgrumpier · 24/03/2023 20:49

Ohh I’m not sure if I could keep it quiet till I got the money but not sure if want anyone to know .
id probably start looking for houses
hand in my notice
book holidays
treat my family and friends
I’d love a dog when I’ve given up work I’d honestly be happy walking a dog every day .
id like to train as a accountant, I’ve worked in accounts for years but I really don’t have the time and money for studying. I think it would be great to learn something I enjoy and would be useful too .
