One of my children's clothes are still smelling of sweat after being washed! They wear Deodorant, how can I get this smell out of their clothes?

Thanks

I've had this problem for some years with teen ds. Recently accidentally chucked one in the 60 degree bedclothes wash and it came out smelling actually clean. The t shirts now all get washed with the sheets. They haven't shrunk - mostly cheap but 100% cotton from H&M or F&F

Wash inside out and line dry. Even if it has to be out there for a couple of days this time of year. Any daylight will help. I always wash gym and PE kit inside out.

We used to have this problem with my DD sports kit. Halo sorted it. I only was at 30 and 40. I also have dettol laundry stuff which I used to use when couldn't get hold of halo. Also helps but prefer halo

If they are white shirts then I recommend napisan too. Only thing that gets my daughters McDs shirts clean and smelling great after all the oil smells from work.

I'll have to try that with Hooliganette's school polo shirts.

Echo the advice to encourage washing with soap and something to scrub away any deodorant remnants to start with
For clothing items that won’t stand a high temp wash, I’ve sprayed armpit areas with laundry cleanser (enough to completely soak them) and left for a while, then washed, this works

I want to suggest the soap but she's become a bit touchy about it!

I dont rate mitchum tbh
I like the sure or dove maximum creams that come in a box.
I found Mitchum roll on took hours to dry too.

My right pit is my smelliest one.

Wash on a 40 degree wash with biological powder and soda crystals, also spray with white vinegar before washing and leave for 5/10 minutes before washing

lovemycbf · 20/03/2023 22:06

Also sweaty armpits smell much better being washed with a bar of proper soap like imperial leather or Palmolive but not dove soap or shower gel

I've just found laundry beads. Best thing ever
