How would you do it?

You can’t really target weight loss. The best things you can do is cut out sugar and alcohol and stick to a calorie controlled diet (work out your tdee)

Something like a daily kettlebell/core workout will help with toning.

Reinventinganna · 14/03/2023 20:39

As above but also walking and Pilates alongside a calorie deficit.

MaireadMcSweeney · 14/03/2023 20:40

You can't choose where to lose weight and unless you're very heavy you can't lose more than about 8lbs in a month.

BuffaloCauliflower · 14/03/2023 20:43

As others have said you can’t choose where your body burns fat from. But low carb tends to work for me, I’d recommend the Fast 800 diet if you want a short, sharp shock. Where the fat comes off most will be up to your body.

Feetupteashot · 14/03/2023 20:43

The terrible military diet thing

Helenahandkart · 14/03/2023 20:45

Fast 800. Do the online subscription and stick to it. It’s worth the money. I lost 17lbs in the first month.

Rattymare · 14/03/2023 20:47

Get a hula hoop, a weighted one for adults. It really does work. 20 minutes a day is all you need to do.

This is a good idea but you MUST also be in a decent calorie deficit to lose weight.

You can’t hula away a bad diet!

smooththecat · 14/03/2023 20:49

Walking quickly up big hills for a couple to hours a day works wonders, hence all the stick-thin, perma-tan elderly people on mountains. Beware muscle wastage though, do some cross training.

smooththecat · 14/03/2023 20:49

Couple of hours

Bunnyishotandcross · 14/03/2023 20:54

Maybe eat hula hoops and then hula? would that work??

GemmaEatsGrapes · 14/03/2023 20:55

Fast 800, it is easy to lose weight with it. We went through the recipe book page by page, did an excel sheet with each meal we would eat under the calorie sections so had a list of 200, or 300 calories etc. We tend to have 200 calorie lunches and 600 calorie dinners, no breakfast. Depending on how much weight you have to lose it should be a good chunk from week 1 alone. I lost 9lb week 1 and another 5lb in week 2.

Although we use the book we also use our own recipes but no rice, pasta or potatoes.

boboshmobo · 14/03/2023 20:55

I've had liquid lipo , I've lost 4 inches off my tummy !

ThursdayLastWeek · 14/03/2023 20:59

I would go shopping and buy something that gave me confidence for whatever is happening in a month.

Then, if I was still interested in getting ‘in shape’ I would move more and eat more protein and veggies and be patient.

LapinR0se · 14/03/2023 21:00

Zero carbs, no alcohol, shedloads of water, walk 10,000 steps a day at a fast pace

mamnotmum · 14/03/2023 21:01

Depends how fit you are already.

Look into 18/6. Go low carb meals. Lots of walking/cardio.

Panpig · 14/03/2023 21:03

I've lost 16lb so far in 4 weeks by just having one meal a day at dinner time, and drinking black coffee, fruit teas, and water throughout the rest ofbthe time. Its really easy to do and the weight has dropped off

Myaiminlife · 14/03/2023 21:10

Every day for the month while eating low carb/low sugar and walking as much as you can.

mamaison · 14/03/2023 21:11

Lowest carbs possible for me. It does actually target the weight on my belly. As opposed to just general calorie deficit.

Luredbyapomegranate · 14/03/2023 21:16

I’d buy some shape wear and a dress that worked.

Not to say you shouldn’t lose weight, but I wouldn’t bet the event on it

Workawayxx · 14/03/2023 21:29

Low carb 100%. Maybe couch 2 5k alongside.

Purplecatshopaholic · 14/03/2023 21:42

Low carb combined with intermittent fasting. No alcohol, lots of water. Bit of walking/exercise. Shapewear.

JeepersCreeperrs · 14/03/2023 21:43

Quit junk food, increase protein to 1g per lb of body weight target, strength train 3x per week, 10k steps per day, 8 hours of sleep per night.

Silkrose · 14/03/2023 21:46

Each night before bed, carefully wrap your limbs in a thin but unbroken layer of cling film. Then the same for your torso and chest. Ensure there are no gaps and try to lay as still as possible during the night, ideally on your back, facing the ceiling. Peel it off in the morning and start your day as normal. After 7 days you will have lost between 12 and 14lbs.

No, not really. Eat less and move more. Fad diets don’t work. You’ll put it all back on and more. There’s a reason the diet industry is always booming. Repeat customers.

Streamside · 14/03/2023 21:49

For me it would certainly involve not eating bread, any type of bread.
