How would you do it?

Drink enough water.

Cut back on carbs, which helps reduce bloating.

Buy a big broom and find a large outdoor area such as a stable yard and sweep it daily. Brilliant for the waistline. In just one month after I stopped working with horses and got a desk job, I put on four inches around my waist even though my weight stayed the same.

Maybe eat hula hoops and then hula? would that work??

This is my favourite suggestion so far

Thank you everyone lots to look into.

I'm gf so bread isn't an issue.

I was trying to look at outfits for a previous event and couldn't find any pictures of me. Everyone in my family is a lot smaller and I had avoided being photographed without realising it so I don't have any from that event.

I'd like to feel a bit more confident for the event I have coming up but I'm in terrible shape and I've left it quite late.

I would cut sugar, bread, potatoes, pasta etc and alcohol completely, exercise for minimum of 1 hour a day, and limit calorie intake as much as possible. Use a calorie tracker like MyFitnessPal to keep track, and insofar as possible, stick to fruit, veg and water only. Not necessarily sustainable, or healthy, but it works for quick loss.

Failing that, a good outfit, a blow dry and a manicure can really boost your confidence.

The faster you lose it the more chance you’ll regain it a lot of the time but I do know how to lose weight fast if that’s what’s needed 😂

Aim for 10,000 steps a day six days a week. This will really help your waist. Use Fitness Pal to figure out a sensible calorie deficit for your weight and height and age using an app. Track your food intake.

You can’t spot reduce fat but if you cut out sugar and booze and keep to only two small portions of carbs a day (ie. one small slice of bread, one tablespoonful of pasta) and eat lots of lean protein and green veg the belly should diminish pretty fast.

Drink a lot of water, pints and pints. Twenty minutes of intense exercise at least four times a week will make a big difference (if you’re medically able to do it).

I lost almost a stone a month doing this, went from 13-10 over the summer 🫠

I'm in the same boat. Two "holidays of a lifetime " coming up in April and May with plenty of notice but as of yesterday i was still swilling beer & pasta.

So mad at myself. Going to try low carb & weights for the coming weeks.

Lucy Wyndham Read on YouTube and stop eating all sweet things

Low carb & low sugar.

I can’t do ‘no carb’ as I don’t like getting completely obsessive about food, but if I ever want to shed a few pounds quickly I go very low carb. No bread, potatoes, rice, cakes/biscuits (obvs). Lots of veg, fruit, chicken, fish, eggs, yoghurt.

I can lose around 10lbs in a month doing it, and it really shows on my belly and waist. I do it most summers before holidays.

How would you do it?

Get covid and eat only soup for 10 days. Worked for me 🤣🤣

Mitchumforthewin · 15/03/2023 08:13

Basically all these methods (apart from the hula one - a hula won’t make you thin, sorry) boil down to one thing which is a calorie deficit. The bigger the deficit the more you’ll lose, but it’ll be harder to stick to. So somewhere between hardcore restriction and generous restriction is the way to go! But you have to really want to do it and to stick to it. No snacks, no crap, no alcohol and a lot of movement should sort you out but it is hard work!
good luck!

Thank you. I had a coffee without sugar this morning and it was vile but I'm going to try 16/8 first and replace carbs with other things. I didn't even deprive myself today and all I could think about was food!

If your looking for a quick win I would go keto for a few weeks. Its not a diet I liked but I lost 11pounds in three weeks and my stomach reduced by 6 inches . If it wasnt for the dirty mouth taste I would have kept at it

Dinkiedoo · 07/01/2024 15:14

Still not losing weight !
Im on a healthy eating plan. Stopped alcohol Snacks etc..
Have not lost any weight since October.
I exercise and drink plenty of water
My health coach says its a plateau and Im doing all the right things but its so frustrating

NotYourBrain · 07/01/2024 15:18

Low carb helps me lose weight and although you cant target areas to lose weight, using a rowing machine has been a low impact way for me to tighten my tummy muscles which has perked the whole thing up, im less like a melting candle!
