I’ve got the rage! How many times do I have to tell him that if there is some laundry that is heavily stained to either ask my advice or just leave it for me! I’ve tried to teach him how to use stain removers and which cycles to use etc.. but I suspect he’s just too lazy to do it! So he chucks it in the machine with no treatment and hopes for divine intervention! 🙄 Now I will need to sort out ds very muddy footie kit which has the mud “washed in” thanks to Mr Clueless/lazy! Aaaargh!!!

Gets spade out and waits for nightfall…

Might have to put him under the patio for this (pic included).

I raise you the four coloured biro in the shirt pocket that ended up in a white wash. Eight school shirts completely ruined. To be fair that was ds rather than Dh.

MissyB1 · 12/03/2023 13:53

Oh God 8 shirts ruined??! I don’t think I could have recovered from that 😬

Is this your partner or your child?

Yeah and don't bother even washing the shirt. Chuck it in the hole with him.

carriedout · 12/03/2023 14:16

Why do you need to do anything - your DH can sort it out if DS is too young to do their own washing.

reallyworriedjobhunter · 12/03/2023 14:19

Just let them wear it like that Hmm

This. It’s strategic incompetence op. Leave it and let him sort it! Why is it your problem..

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 12/03/2023 14:27

Why does he need to ask your advice or leave it to you if clothing is stained? And why do you need to sort anything out? I’m not following your point here - unless you’re about to drip feed that your DH has an SEND profile which means he is not able to use a washing machine?

I mean, I’m being kind here and assuming that you’re not implying that he has to leave it to you because only women know how to do washing, knowledge granted them by the magical power of a vagina…

thatsn0tmyname · 12/03/2023 14:29

My partner is pretty good with the washing but he can't hang clothes on an airer for toffee.

notgettinganyyounger · 12/03/2023 14:30

LTB

IAteAllTheTomatoes · 12/03/2023 14:30

Why are you indulging this nonsense?

Just tell him the stains can't be removed now as it's already been washed and thst you need him to go out now and replace it?

Once it starts costing him,he'll learn.

MissyB1 · 12/03/2023 14:47

He’s 55 years old and is very intelligent so it’s just pure laziness I’m afraid! Yes I’ve left it for him this time, he’s gone to watch a rugby, I didn’t discover it until he’d left. Ds (14) would have tackled it himself and checked it with me first, but Dh just chucked it in switched the machine on, and probably patted himself on the back!

But I’m still not clear why any of this is your problem? Not your football kit, not you who did the washing - why all the drama?

OurChristmasMiracle · 12/03/2023 14:52

I mean seeing as he keeps getting it wrong he needs the practice so will have to do all the washing. You are just teaching him how to do it right!!

Doesthepopeshitinthewoods · 12/03/2023 15:05

He sees it as your problem and beneath him. So he consistently doesn’t bother and leaves it’s for you. Weaponised incompetence. You’ll learn, if you haven’t already, to stop expecting him to do anything. Probably.

I feel like it physically hurts when laundry is done wrong! Yes I know that’s nuts! 😂

This is exactly what my DM said to me the first time I tried doing a job badly in the hope she wouldn't ask again when I was a teen Grin

Globe22 · 12/03/2023 15:15

It’s only sports kit, it’ll get dirty next match too. Don’t sweat the small stuff!

CarPoor · 12/03/2023 15:20

It's a 14yos football kit. It's really not the end of the world, I'm sure half of them have permanent mud stains

Leave your DH to deal with it. He can either tru to get the mud out or buy him a new one. Not your problem

Sunriseinwonderland · 12/03/2023 15:21

I buried my exH under the patio for repeatedly loading the washing machine with his clothes and tissues in all his pockets.
It took me hours to roller and pick the tissues off the laundry.
The second time he did it all the tossed clothes went up the dump and the third time ditto.
He didn't do it again.

mrsm43s · 12/03/2023 15:23

It's only mud right? I'd have just chucked that in the wash, and it would have come out clean. We don't need to routinely treat anything before chucking in the wash. Is your machine working OK? You shouldn't need to treat to get mud out.

GrumpyPanda · 12/03/2023 15:24

Why would you toss it? It's now officially a camouflage shirt. Well if you happened to get lost in some sort of red-coloured desert that is.

DustyLee123 · 12/03/2023 15:25

I’ll help you dig the hole if mine can go in too 🤣🤣

eatdrinkandbemerry · 12/03/2023 15:27

Oooh I'm a bit invested with laundry so that would annoy me too.
I wouldn't let my other half put anything in the washer again 😩

Hbh17 · 12/03/2023 15:28

You are just feeding the stereotype that only women can/should do laundry..... please stop!
