Fairy Liquid users - are your bubbles rubbish too?

MaryDerry · 11/03/2023 18:28

Trivial frowning..
Have any of you Fairy Liquid washer uppers noticed a reduction in the power of the Fairy?
My bubbles aren't so big and disappear really quickly.
Is this where our society is taking us? Everything we trusted becoming weaker?

Yes!!! I thought it was just me, or I had bought a fake bottle or something! I’m having to swish with my hand but even then they disappear quickly.
Ive run out a lot quicker because I think I’m using more.

GoodVibesHere · 11/03/2023 18:36

Yes I noticed I was squeezing more from the bottle as it wasn't bubbling enough!

VariationsonaTheme · 11/03/2023 18:37

Yes, thought the exact same thing today.

Honestly, it doesn't matter. The bubbles don't clean, they're only there for asthetics.

if my brain fog wasn't so shit I could explain it better with the active ingredients etc, but it is, so I can't. So you'll have to believe me or not.

credentual: used to own a company that made various cleaning products

Bandanadrama · 11/03/2023 18:38

I've started using Morning Fresh again, much better, cheaper and reminds me of my childhood holidays with my Granny.

MrsSiriusBlack1 · 11/03/2023 18:39

Aldi magnum, blue antibacterial one is good

earsup · 11/03/2023 18:39

Yes.....not as good now or been watered down like everything else, now they are pushing a new range of Fairy Max at twice the price, no idea if its any good. Our favourite was Asda Orange range but its now discontinued and found it better than Fairy.

MaryDerry · 11/03/2023 18:39

Ha! It is a thing, it's not my new washing up bowl creating issues.

Bloody hell. Never thought they'd mess up their USP. Pah.

bubbles don't make any difference to cleaning power

Speedweed · 11/03/2023 18:40

I bet fairy max will be the original, bubbly formula now at a premium price too.

carriedout · 11/03/2023 18:40

The bubbles are just for show, they've probably improved the recipe.

Bunnyfuller · 11/03/2023 18:40

It’s not just me! Going through it way faster, it’s like a cheap one now.

Ummm , but it is not cutting through the grease so well either. it's like it's diluted down in all its power.

AnyFucker · 11/03/2023 19:04

Yeah, it’s gone crap

BlackeyedSusan · 11/03/2023 19:05

Yes for a few years.

MissyB1 · 11/03/2023 19:10

The Aldi one smells really weird to me, I don’t like it. I think I will get Asda own brand.

bigbluebus · 11/03/2023 19:15

I've been thinking that for quite a long time now. A splash of Fairy Liquid made loads of bubbles when I was a child.

Malariahilaria · 11/03/2023 19:30

Goodness I thought this was just me. Used to use one quick squeeze, now using loads to get a proper bubbly bowl. How expensive can that ingredient be? Annoying.

hedgehoglurker · 11/03/2023 19:57

Really disappointed with it too. It doesn't disperse properly in the washing up bowl, despite putting in the water stream. Fewer bubbles and doesn't cut through grease well.

I've found that diluting it in the bottle helps with the dispersal, and now use this dilution in one of those dishmatic wands (a sponge on top of a washing up liquid dispenser). At least this way it continues cutting through grease.

BHRK · 11/03/2023 20:13

Oh no not Fairy! It’s the only one I like

Yes it's not worth the money now because it's no better that supermarkets own brands

woodhill · 11/03/2023 20:20

It's ok but I take your point, bulk buy from Costco

My dd had the splosh thing you dissolve in water

May start using that as it cuts down plastic waste

enjoyingscience · 11/03/2023 20:22

I’ve switched to the Aldi essentials one that comes in a huge bottle and sells like bubble mix. I don’t feel narky about putting a huge squirt in and it’s doing the job for something like 60p a bottle.
